Default timing chain question

I just installed cams, followed the service manual for all the timing marks etc. install went great, I hand turned the motor over with a breaker bar to make sure it turned smooth etc. now my question id there a way to double check the timing now that i have rotated it off TDC? I tried rotating it a few more times to see if the chain would land on the timing marks, with no luck.

it will take a lot of turning. but if it is in time, the marks will line up. if i remember correctly gold on crank gear and the lobes on number one will point toward each other, not touching the lifter
are all of the tensioners released? I'm sure its fine.

yes when 1 is at TDC the lobes are as you described. I am confident i did it how the serv ice manual described was just looking to double check

The sprocket that goes on the crank is much smaller than the sprockets for the cams. As long as you set the timing correctly from the beginning it will line up again just takes alot of turns

Count the number of teeth on the chain between the marks, then count the number of teeth you now have between the actual timing marks on the sprockets. They should be the same. You can turn that thing over for a looooong time before the marks on the chain are going to line up again.
