Default Need advice, opinions etc...

Would like some advice and opinions from people that are F/I. I'll try to keep this nice and short. Back in Jan/Feb I was looking into purchasing the Boosted Performance single turbo kit. Around the same time, I was browsing the market place and I purchased this kit on impulse:

https://my350z.com/forum/turbos-nitr...cessories.html

After getting the run around from local shops I decided to put it on hold and concentrate on suspension, wheels, brakes etc... Then in August I made another impulse purchase:

https://my350z.com/forum/north-east-...nsmission.html

Winter is coming and I needs the BOOST for next spring!!! Problem is I really like the Boosted Performance Single turbo kit too. Easy installation, maintenance, plus u get Sasha on demand He might be making another setup, he can chime in if he wants to let that info out.

I'm looking into the long run of maintenance of the GReddy twins vs Single. I also feel like I'd be going backwards if I ditch the twins for a single. I can't recall ever seeing a thread of some one going from twins on the VQ35DE platform to single . I'm lost, I need help

the motor is already out so install is simple with the greddy. no reason in the world to go to single turbo kit.
just get the 3" downpipe conversion, some 1 bar wastegate springs and you are good to go.

looks like you got a helluva deal on that TT kit! You could sell it for the same price, if not more. It looks like it is in excellent shape too.

Get what you really want and install once. Would you be the first person with a BP kit on a built motor? Just be sure to get the right size turbo to make some serious power and see what that kit can do.

He would be the 4th person with a built motor. One kit sold with a 6262 .81 a/r. Two more sold with a 6765 turbo, both for built motors.

Jeff has had his car runing for a while now with the 67mm turbo. The other customer with the 67mm is waiting for the motor build, and the 62mm with a built motor is going to have some results soon enough.

The Greddy kit is not installed on his car yet.

Binder upgraded his turbine housing to a .81 but I don't think he has had the time to get back to the car.

I think he made 460whp on DD dyno at IP at about 13psi, but his tires started to shread on the dyno so they had to stop. This was with the .68 T4 housing, and it was determined to be too restrictive, hence the upgrade.

His back pressure was very high, and the dyno results reflect that. I am sure with the .81 housing that number will be much higher with the same boost level.

i think it would be crazy to get rid of the twins for a single setup..motor is out which makes for an easy install of the twins..i dont get the problem here..if that kit u have is complete and looks barely used why would u want to get rid of it

^ I think it's a matter of if something goes wrong after the install, he's gonna want the service associated with bp. OP it seems like you really want the single kit and you got a good deal on the twins. So why not sell the twins, maybe make a couple bucks and then get the single?

the powerband between the 2 will be dramatically different between a 6765 and a 18g TT.

And no one has posted what a 6765 will look like on a VQ. You cannot compare power across different motors.

If he wants a hwy car, then possibly the 6765/68 might be a better choice, but after seeing the potential from Alberto's car (~700ft -lbs at 4500 rpms! ) seems crazy to wanna go with less.
