I apologize too...I made the comment in fun and was not trying to offend anyone But anyone who remembers the "I make draw" guy , would have gotten a chuckle out of that one..

I also would like to add that I installed the ATI kit myself and have no problems yet...But I am very careful now that I see all this going on..Plus I am running the FMU at stock settings for safety..My friend got his tuned and blew his engine the next day...And he is a very careful driver, so there is definitely something that is going wrong with these kits...

finally someone that understands what is really going on

I for one of those that already bought the kit with the understanding from both ATI and the installer that this a safe bolt on as long as I don't mess with it am horrified I and my authorized installer both were never informed that any problem existed before or now with the so called complete kit Why after it has been out for over 3 months do they now tell us albeit by other then proper means that their complete kit is really not complete and to use it means to risk total failure

daddyz, you got yours from grubbs didn't you. I'll bet they're fit to be tied with this since they've done a number of installs.

up front is when you tell people about problems with a kit before you sell it to them.
Sorry but I still don't see any "problems" with the kit itself. When installed correctly and not abused, it works perfectly as advertised. Mine and MANY MANY others are proof of this.

i'm trying to keep costs down on reverse-engineering this $5000 piece of crap........thats not what i signed up for, but it sounds like you're happy with it
What exactly DID you "sign up" for? You paid your $ and you got the kit that was advertised. Nothing more, nothing less.

Have you blown up your engine EJ? What kind of reverse engineering are you trying to do? Are you saying that since you (and others too including me) are looking to add A/F gauges, timing devices, better FMU's, Wideband O2 meters ect., that this means your are "reverse engineering?

If that is your definition of it, then I'd say it is flawed. Are you "reverse engineering" your car by adding a SC, CAI, Body kit, Wheels, tires etc??? No, you are simply making it a better car than the one you bought from Nissan.

By the same token, you purchased a kit that works just fine as long as it is installed and used appropriately. Just because you are adding things to in afterwards doesn't amount to reverse engineering. It's just "modding" your SC to make it better/safer.

My friend got his tuned and blew his engine the next day...And he is a very careful driver, so there is definitely something that is going wrong with these kits...
King, if it blew up the next day, I'd say it was more a tuning issue and not a kit issue. BTW, I didn't mean to get all heavy with the Japanese bashing thing. I really did laugh when I read your "make draw" comment.

If you wanna talk about crying, what about all the PM's and emails you were sending me when you were upset that my Procharger shipped out before yours?......"but i paid for mine first, i don't understand " *sniffle*
WTF??? THAT'S what you use as ammo to attack me??? Man EJ, I would have thought you would have doen a better job than that! That's pathetic. Jeeze, I sent you maybe two PM's ASKING when yours shipped out so I could gauge when mine would arrive since I figured I ordered mine just before yours.

look, people have different experiences...
your single experience, as a whole is, is not absolutely correct.
goes both ways...

some people have no problems
some have had problems
some are having problems
some have worked around problems

could ati have done better? yes, just look at vortech's support here

I think the people having doubts are ok with the people who are happy.
Why can't you happy people let them vent/explore?

I've seen this happen many times:
Miata owners complaining about low dynos,
then RX8 owners complaining about low dynos.
Other owners saying there's no problem. They like
everything as is, your this, that...
In each case, the seller recognized an issue and offered
corrective measures. Did the nay sayers refuse the free cash
and extra service?

If ATI ever changes the kit to add timing, will you happy people
refuse it?

Dr. Bonz, why are you now ordering the J&S Knock Sensor if
there's nothing wrong with your kit? It does NOT advance timing!
It does not make you faster.

sometimes the worried folk get heat and emotional but they are,
in their way, just asking for help. telling them you don't have an
issue, fine. That's all the help you need to give...

ps. I'm happy with my ATI now...

I suggest a group hug... but seriously, we really need to find out how many Z's have prochargers, how many have blown motors, and concerning the blown motors, what was going on before the kit was installed?

Need: I'm getting this stuff, as I said above, as a "mod" for my SC so I can ride safe. I am having NO issues with my Procharger at all.

EJ: I call PEACE with you. Prozac is now in and taking effect.

Jesse: EHHHH? WHAT WAS THAT? LET ME TURN UP MY HEARING AID!!!

Ravez: Is "***in" a verb or an adjective?

You bring up a good point. But I would like to add to your post. I think some people have problems and don't know it. I think all the members that have S/C's or turbos should do a compression check (ASAP). This is not ATI specific but rather FI specific. Everyone that has any form of FI should do a compression check and report back. I think we will all be suprised to see the results.

Outside observer, owner of a NA Z3 observes:
I can run the **** out of NA Z# all day and all night.
I would have to cautiously drive, and not push to hard, a FI Z3.
NA for me. I belive this is what Nissan intended for the Z3 and the VQ35.

The ATI kit has only been out a couple of months. There is still some R&D being done on fuel management. What is not 100% reliable now may become reilable in 3 months once the details are worked out. In addition, there are more FI kits coming to market. To say FI is not reliable is premature. All products go through this typ of cycle. You cannot judge the SC kits reliability without seeing them come out first thus how could you know the reilability of a Vortch or DW SC tight now?

Same thing, I cannot confirm hp gain of a NA product until it is dyno'ed
