Default Powerlab gt35 results and issues, PLEASE HELP!

Got this kit installed early this season on my 2005 350z. Made 386whp and 372tq.
Installed the kit with a 3inch universal hfc (vibrant) added to the 3inch down pipe included in the kit which connects to my 3inch nismo exhaust and nismo muffler.
Kit is the complete kit 600cc injectors and turbo xs utec.

My issues are: rpm hunts at idle most recent tune has it around 800-1000 rpm, runs rich /smells, not smooth through entire rpm band(power and air fuel) , and a decent rattle from under car.

I have had the car re tuned 2or3 times including a osirus uprev reflash to eliminate check engine light for o2 sensors.

Hopefully someone can give me some ideas as to what could be the problem(s)

Injectors to big for utec?
Utec is just crap?
Hfc and where the o2 sensors are positioned?
3inch exhaust for good flow then a baffled nismo muffler?
Or lousy tunner?

If you have any questions/ need more info to help me out then let me know, thanks in advance!

Sounds like a straightforward setup. Could be vaccume leak of some kind, or a tuning issue. Your setup should result in a perfectly running car.

1) Smoke test/pressure test for leaks
2) Check spark plugs and cap
3) Retune

Hope you get everything sorted out ASAP. I'm just curious though, how much boost was the 386 whp & 372 torques on?

Also, do you have any hesitation/stuttering at 2,400 or 2,500 rpm?

no issues with the powerlab setup here except for the lack of top end whp. U should heat wrap most of the pippings so it will prevent the rattling/noise. The kit fits very snug so u will hear the vibrations more from inside the cabin. As far as the rich smell and poor idle that could be due to a bad tune...u need to post the dyno sheet for us to figure that out. Also, there's no HFC anymore so make sure all the o2 sensors are actually plugged in. There's an o2 sensor right where the driverside header connects to the powerlab pipe so make sure there's one at that location. GL

I never had any issues with my PowerLab kit. Ran just like stock until i mash on the pedal lol. No problems with Utec and 650 injectors either or water/meth.
Now I have a built block, cams, n headers with no issues with UTEC or 650 injectors. I am getting that lttl hesitation at 2400-2500 rpm now though but nothing too worry about for me.
Piping is snug so rattles may arise. Your exhaust may be butting up too close to one of the brackets under the car.

What lack of to-pend whp? my max power is at top end.

Check for a vacuum leak.

I had issues with my tial wastegate but I seriously think the previous owner messed with it.
I replaced it with a synapse. Strange full boost is only at 4700rpm now, so I raised my boost by .2bar....my dyno graft looks similar to a supercharger now.
I still hit 1bar at 4000rpm but it climbs to 1.3bar from 4700rpm to red line with minimum torque drop.

I had the hesitation as well when running the utec (2000rpm -3000rpm) pending on the load. This is gone since I switched to Haltech.
It must be Utec or the tune it self on the Utec.

Yeah everything is heat wrapped and or fire sleaved.. I added a hfc further back and both o2 sensors are plugged in an inch apart just before the cat. So one should go by the driver side header? What about the other one....?

I will try to post the dyno sheet tonight

Thanks

Also one more thing. I also have noticed the nipple on the waste gate does not have any hose... Should there be one there? And if so where does it run to

If you aren't using a boost controller then the boost ports on the top part of the wastegate won't have any lines on them. They will just vent to atmosphere

pics of the cat?

I had a Vibrant 3 inch cat welded into the downpipe...02 sensors are after. if it is further downstream, it is probably not even heating up enough to do much

im referring to the small g35r turbo...it runs out of steam at 16psi on pump = 500whp on DD. Twin turbo would have been the best option without sacrificing lag for top end pw like the gt37r.

OP, do u have dyno sheet of the A/F ratio. There's really something wrong if u can only have 38Xwhp on a dynopak dyno at 8 psi (those dyno read a lot higher compared with dynojets).

OP,
Why not try another tuner?
Perhaps APH or SGM?

I have never heard of Dynamotorsports tuning in the GTA....

Sgm was the original tuner and wasn't up to par at all (install was great)... That's when dynamotor sports (tony the tiger) to a crack at it an made it a little better but still not good, plus had a miss fire at that time. Then finally got the uprev re flash from sgm (sasha) who then played with it a little more with a street tune and got rid of miss fire & o2 sensor CEL... That tune is the current tune and still has the issues in original post BUT much better then when I first got car back after install... Sasha has been great in his efforts to make me happy and get my car working properly, just still not right. He isn't crazy about the kit and litterally hates the UTEC. so thought I would get some personal experiences/ advice.

You should speak with Ed@APH. They know their way around FI, vq's and Brian is a competent tuner..
