Well, I already got the info I needed. CP is apparently closed but someone was able to answer the question most of you guys seemed to completely miss. Thanks for nothing.

No reason for me to keep this bumping this thread. Three pages of crap just to get a simple question answered, incredible. In the next week or so I will be posting up my complete build with pics and info...THEN you guys can criticise all you want.

I think it has more to do with the fact that most people here just find you annoying and don't want to help you, rather than an inability to answer your question.

What about metal fatigue?

Why the hell would someone build an engine out of used internals? Sad...

maybe because it's a great way to achieve the same thing and save money while you are at it.

I don't believe in sacrificing on quality parts but there is no reason you can't reuse a rod or a piston if it's in good condition. Used parts should be throughly inspected before use, but if everything checks out there is no reason not to.

but you are probably the guy who replaces every gasket regardless of its condition when you change out plenum parts.

wish I had the cash to blow to use new parts on everything.

With E85 you could easily run 11:1 and mid teens for boost on a turbo or supercharger with the stock redline.

When we were racing Pikes Peak International Hillclimb Rhys Millen was running 20+psi, E85 and 14:1 CR in his Solstice with a higher redline than a VQ. If memory serves me right, he told me he was running 24psi. I forget what the calculated dynamic CR was though which is what really matters.
