I've been looking forward to the completion of this kit. I wish I had the built motor ready to go, but thats going to be later on this year. I'm glad you went away from the internal w/g's. I'm going to be looking to go with the GT3076 for my build.

my wishlist:
This kit for an HR
An easy tuning solution like GTM has with their reflash...
I'll be ready in 2012 (Away from my Z until then...) I'll keep my fingers crossed!!

If you're talking about a mail in flash on your ecu that won't be possible. On a forced induction build you would have to dyno and use a flash like osiris during the tune. Each engine is so different it is near impossible to make a tune that can just be flashed on any car and sent out.

Generic tune, and you are just asking for your engine to blow up.

U don't need a tune... Jus get in an drive..
J/k i gotta back up BP N binder.... Ur asking for trouble with any map that isn't tailored to ur car.... n even if its rich but don't blow ur motor u still won't reach full potential n u will burn a hell of a lot of gas..
off topic... Sasha i got tuned today, Hal n Ed r great guys.
kit made 382.8 hp n somewhere in the 360 ftlb area... N u kno their dyno.....
Dude get a proper tune Watever u do u won't regret it

Now if you are running a standalone or piggyback engine management system, then yes I would agree you should have a tune specific to your build.
But....
One of the major benefits of flashing the factory ECU is you retain and benefit from all the capabilities the manufacturer as already designed. air temp compensation, altitude compensation, fuel temp. compensation, voltage compensation, etc. etc.
So if you have a production turbo kit, designed for a specific trim vehicle, and during your R&D process tune this vehicle utilizing the factory ECU (within an acceptable safety margin of course) then packages this tune and supply it with your kit - you can literally install the kit, flash the ECU and drive the car.
I believe there are plenty of GTM kits with their flash running around that can prove this point. Not to mention tuners like Dinan, and various EVO tuners that sell their tunes over the internet/mail.
Just want to make sure we aren't spreading wrong information that might scare some folk who don't know any better
In short, a properly pre-packaged tune that is used with the kit it was designed for is no more dangerous, and if not safer (due to incompetent tuners abroad), than a custom tune.
