Haha, no it is not. I just had to get the 44mm w/g fitted. I go through an extensive check list during packaging. My wife got maad at me once because I would not let her in the shop while packing a kit up. No interuptions during this process.

To be honest, I really don't know. The kit went to Saudi Arabia.

So it didn't run even on spring pressure or just to check for leaks... Damn

Hopefully you get a dyno sheet to see how far it got pushed

This project was put on the back burner for a bit now. A series of events has taken me away from this project that I would love to finish. The last one being an accident at work, where I took a chunk out of my left wrist, leaving me with a number of stitches and a recovering hand. It is looking good so far though.

I have spent some time working on improving the ST kit as well, to better suite those who have a built block, and are looking at maxing out the 6765 turbo.

Yeah, the accident sure is a PITA, but that is life...what can you do. The hand is healing very well, and now I can get back on the fabrication side of things. I miss the welding torch.

The main one will be a much larger FMIC, this is priority number one at the moment. I have contacted Precision and Turbonetics (Spearco) to see if they can build something to meet my criteria. I also contacted Bell Intercoolers, and they quoted me $1000 for a vertical flow FMIC. I think that is a bit steep, so now I am waiting for the other two manufacturers to get back to me with quotes. We shall see what comes out of it. I would really like to stay with a vertical flow core, so I don’t have to change my piping, we’ll see how that goes I guess.

Couple of other small changes, but nothing significant.

Good to hear your healing up quick. I race motocross and have had more than my fair share of injuries, i know how much they suck! Thats awsome that your still trying to make improvements on the ST kit, its good to see some devotion back towards our platform again and somebody trying new things.

I'm quite partial to the sound of internal wastegates... yeah i know im strange. That could save some notable $ for the kit, unless you already have turbo purchasing deals... But otherwise this looks like another really good kit!

There are some limitations with internal wastegates, however, when pushing high levels of boost. For that reason, GTM permanently closes the internal wastegates on the GT3071R turbos and provides external wastegates.

On the Greddy turbos, the wastegates are external, but boost creep can be a problem at high boost levels. For this reason, a wastegate relocation kit oftentimes is used, which seems to alleviate the issue of boost creep.

I am pretty sure JWT uses internal gates with the 850's. Those are GT3071R's as well. I have not seen issues with boost creep on those kits.

EDIT: Yup, they are internal gates: https://my350z.com/forum/turbos-nitr...turbo-kit.html

The boost creep issue is with the Greddy turbos not using a wastegate relocation kit. There was a thread on this in the forum a few years ago. IIRC, the problem started to become an issue at about 18 psi of boost or so.

I'm not sure exactly what the issue was on the 3071 turbos, only that it was significant enough for GTM to decide to lock it down and provide an external wastegate. In fact, on my 3071s, the W/G leaver is welded to keep the internal wastegate from opening. IIRC, Roger at Japtrix also mentioned something about this. I'll inquire as to the specifics of the issues with the 3071s.
