Default supertech

Anybody on here have any experience with these valves/springs? rebuilding my heads and trying to get a feel for what I should get, the goal is 600+ and 7K-7500 RPM's. I know that theres a lot of guys running the BC stuff, I've just heard some iffy stuff about them from some of my buddies down here, granted they arent VQ guys so thanks for the help guys.

I've heard of the BC valves breaking. I've never heard of Supertech. Ferrea valves have a good reputation.

yeah the BC thing is what i was refering to... but i'm also not trying to pay through the nose for my valvetrain either... the Supertech stuff was suggested to me by a EVO buddy of mine who runs them and loves em. They are a little more expencive then BC and much cheaper than Ferrea, kind of a middle of the road option I guess.

The stock valves should be fine, just spend the money on Ferrea springs and retainers, that way you will be able to handle any large cams you want.

well the issue is that something happened inside my head and i boke a cam, and now my head leaks like a b!#^$... at this point i've decided that i've got a few bent valves so might as well just buy the whole shibang anyways.

your spring choice is dictated by your cam choice

I haven't used them in my VQ35, but I have a set of Supertech dual springs in my 4G63 and have inadverntly had the engine turn to 12,600RPM with no valve to piston contact.

I also use their valves in that engine and they seem to be pretty tough parts.

I wouldn't be afraid to use them in a VQ.

Supertech has a good rep on other platforms. Intense has been using Supertech valves & springs in their Supra builds and used Supertech on IIQuickSilverII's VQ build. They recommended Supertech to me back when I was going to have them build my motor. But then I came across a smoking deal I couldn't pass up for a practically new built long block which already has a Ferrea valvetrain.

then you have no need whatsoever for a dual spring setup
