Powerlabs guys - emissions
Those who have PL set-ups (maybe other setups). How do you get your cars through emissions inspections with OBD2? I run a Haltech with Osiris and the O2 sensors and Evap system won't ready. It keeps the CEL off, but it won't reset and I have well over 3,000 miles. Also, since these don't ready, does this affect anything else in the performance?
How do you guys get through emissions or do you even try?
thanks

I think something is disabled via the Osiris or haltech to make the Evap not ready, maybe the 02 sensors as well...no code shows...is this possible for either to manually override the system from readying? My system is semi-abnormal due to the Vibrant cat welded into the downpipe. it never even threw an O2 code with the UTEC in it, only a/f bank sensor codes prior to the haltech/osiris install. I'm worndering if I took it to a Haltech expert, they could turn the readyness back on, if that makes sense.

Has anyone heard of a patch for the Haltech which makes the sensors always read 'ready'? I heard this exists for some Evo's, but I am not sure if it is rumor or fact.

Interesting...I'm getting a new laptop in 2 weeks and I'm going to install the Haltech software on it so i can mess with the readyness.
RC, I may need more detailed information once I find out if I can have 1 'not ready' in NJ. Otherwise it might be time for a 'move' back to VA or PA.

I have to say, despite the emissions headaches, good fuggin riddance to the UTEC. Maybe it was the tune in it, but it surged, bucked, hot-'started'....absolute POS.

werd..utec was never meant to be be used for a "stock like" performance...not sure mine was as bad as you describe it, but it was always something to just get things running and then upgrade later on.
either way, hope you get the emissions issue resolved man, not much i can say since i dont have to worry about it where i live.

I just did this in NY in the past two weeks... Had my stock ecu reflashed, which is necessary if you still have a stock ecu most of the times where emissions and readiness monitors are part of the inspection.
Long story short, I went to Performance Motorsports East in Long Island after speaking with the guys at Uprev. They shut all the readiness monitors off the Read "Not Supported" this is what is necessary cars on inspection with OBDII in NY. NJ is almost an identical inspection I beleive. I put my stock ecu back in my car yesterday, went down to my shop, cleared my system of any codes, and then plugged my OBDII inspection computer into my car, and it passed with ZERO issues. In NY it is an extremely difficult process to pass emissions inspection, the reflash made it extremely easy for me.
I have attached a copy of the readiniess monitor screen that the OBDII looks at when doing an OBD emissions inspection. In the photo there are two monitors that are "not ready" I sent my ecu back with this photo and Performance Motorsports was able to flash the ecu for those two specific monitors, got it back and everything was perfect. +1 to Andrew for getting it overnighted back to me too. I would suggest them since they aren't far and have done this now, and it worked out awesome. No more screwing around TRYING to pass on the inspection.

Are your rear O2s cycling?
The entire nissan drive cycle is pretty intense for all of the readiness codes to go ready.
The EVAP and O2s make me think that there is something prior to them not going ready and hindering going forward in the drive test.
My recommendation, take it a Z shop that knows their stuff. A dealership most likely wont be any help. I can try to find the drive cycle test, but I won't be home until the weekend.
Performance motorsport, vinny ten, RTT, come to mind in your area

I do not have to go through any drive cycles now. I actually had a misfire code because i'm running extremely rich at the moment. I cleared the codes, and all my readiniess monitors read "not supported"... In NY that will allow you to pass inspection, and sure enough I had no problems.
I personally used performance motorsport and was extremely happy. 2+ years of fighting inspection is over.

Not to mention, I also had my throttle access set to 100% instead of the dialed down setting that comes stock (whatever that percentage actually is) and in doing this my limp mode issue with my Utec went away, no more apps sensor issue, sucks to find it out now right before getting ready to install my 128 box. Lots of benefits from the Uprev software I am seeing.
