What gauges are you going to run? I just picked up some Defi Advanced, pretty sweet.

I remember hearing about running a larger crank pulley, like the dampened one, increasing the boost but you have to becareful not to overspin unit. Just an idea incase GTM can't do anything to the older unit.

Look into Motordynes shockwave exhaust.. Has the nice tips and better performance than the Greddy SE.

Are you just doing methanol to keep temps cool? It might be easier just to do water only if you don't want to deal with refilling your methanol.

Clutch?
Hmmm.... I have been considering the GTM S/C for my 09 G37 sedan for the last few months (vs. buying a M3 or S4), but I am just not sure if I will completely satisfied at 400 WHP on the G. It is good to see some positive feedback from a FI lifer.... I saw the 370Z roadster build, and he had mentioned you helped with the install. Decisions, decisions....

OP, sorry for the OT.

PM WEIBOY. He's had GTM's and Stillen's superchargers installed.

dont get the Quaife if you want to track in the future.. mechanical gear type LSDs will spin a wheel if you lift on a burm, its no bueno... clutch type is the way to go.

I'm getting it b/c it's coming with the kit... I'm not sure if I'm going to run it or not though.

If its a true dual(which I'm almost certain it is) it wont fit with the diffuser installed... if I could run a TD, it would be a HKS.

The meth is coming with the kit but I ordered the Haltec from Z1auto about a year ago when I still had the Greddy Tuner. The Haltec is overkill but that's what people tune down here in Miami. After reading VTR's intro thread and watching the owner for the UPREV just jumping in all over his ****, just made me never want to buy anything that involves him.

I'm not sure about the gauges yet... they'll have to be amber and I'd like to install them above the steering wheels so they're out of site.

If you decide not to run it i would still install it and just use filtered water since it wont really be a hassle to refill.

How effective is filtered/distilled water over meth? Aside from the obvious, I know you can't drive around with a gallon of Meth in the car but if I'm not going to run it... is water that effective?

water is what does the majority of the cooling. since you are stock block, the cooling from water is all you need as you cant bump the timing much anyhow bc of the physical limitations of the rods.

Goodluck with the build Joel. This should complete an already well rounded car. Can't wait to see the car again

Thanks. I have been following his saga (I guess that is a good word for it). I am really waiting to see what the stage 2 kit can do, and GTM just posted some results today....

I'm not sure with the HKS kit, but I was able to fit a Koyo 54mm radiator with my Vortech by trimming a small bit of fan shroud. Twice the capacity of the 36mm and they're both the same price.

the 36mm would be better for his setup.

ah, ic. Haltech is great so i'm not saying don't get it. If you have it by all means use it. I think it's pretty easy to tune with.
