Default How do i identify a rev-up oil pump?

This build i have was supposed to contain a rev-up oil pump. I have the oil pump sitting here and i'm not sure how i can find out if it really is a rev-up. If i was shorted I would like to upgrade it while it's apart.

also, what are the thoughts on a billet girdle? I've seen quite a few cars putting down 600hp area with stock girdle. I was 523 reving to 7700rpms and no destruction yet. I think thomm took his to mid 700's on race gas with oem girdle. I'm hoping to be in the 600's with e85 and i'm just sick of putting more money into this car.

lol, first tune: tuner blew head gaskets and didn't pay for a thing

fixed that and took it to hal. tuned on vortech, tore it down for turbo build and tons of small things were just going wrong.

haltech died, took a couple months but hal got it warrantied.

couldn't finish the turbo tuning because of the mickey's getting too hot. Tuned to 13psi and couldn't get the driving map smooth. Was going to fix it in the spring but got stuck in the snow storm in texas in january and lost an oil line then ran low on oil. Oil pressure gauge never read bad so i didn't know. Tore the whole engine down and the bearings were destroyed. It's at the machinist again.

lol, i put maybe 3k miles on that and 2k of that was my whole trip to texas!

AFAIK the main difference is the spring pressure on the relief valve. I've seen a shimed spring on a non-rev pump and trying to pass it off as a rev-up.

I guess i could go use the postal scale and see but i would guess residue inside the pump would make differences and when it's only .4 oz there isn't much room for error.

It's under that bolt at the top of the pics... easy to get at but unless you have something to compare it to and measure with...

ya, i guess i could compare the springs with my stock block spring. Just more of a PITA to pull it apart as well since it's still on the engine.
