Procharger question?
Ok, so this may be a stupid question but I'm going to ask anyway. I have a procharger on my 350Z I just installed, with that I also installed 440cc injectors and a turboxs piggyback system with a bad tune. I'm only running 7psi. So my question is if I go back to my stock injectors and just my ecu would I hurt the car with 7psi? You might ask why I wouldn't just get a tune, well I'm on a budget right now and I have maxed it out. Plus the tuners around here want around $400 to tune my car. I should have waited to install the procharger but I can never wait on anything. So is there anyone out there that can help me out?
Stock injectors and tune are setup for stock boost.. 0psi. You will quickly pass your stock injectors at 7psi. And your stock ignition map will also be dangerously over-advanced for 7psi. Get a tune. $400 is cheap, and significantly cheaper than a new engine.
^qft. 400$ is a drop in the bucket compared to what you will cause otherwise. come up with the money some how.
honestly you should have a lot more money in reserve if you are boosting your Z : /

$400... Really right now?! If ur second guessing a good tune for reliability, driveability and "longevity" of ur engine...you really shouldnt have be where ur at with the car right meow.
OP, any chance that your Procharger kit came with the FMU an inline pump like the Vortech kits? If thats the case, you should be safe to put those on and go back to stock injectors and be safe, only problem is that you are going to run pig rich at WOT but thats better than lean, but I cant agree with whats been said already enough, $400 is pretty cheap for a safe tune and in the long run will be much much less than replacing engine parts that give up the ghost...
Thank you Hal and tony you answer the question I was asking. I kinda figured that was the answer but I was getting mixed answers from the shops around here. I do have a 255 walbro fuel pump also... It does have a tune just a really rich one that was done by SPG ( i wish i never took it to them)
