sorry for delay in updates. I really have not had time to work on my own car. Only update i have is that I switched out the ecu with another 04.5 auto z ecu and flashed my rom on it. Still has the same missing cylinders. I will be burning the midnight oils tonight working on it along with tomorrow. Im either going to figure it out or part out.

Sounds like a wiring fault. Not sure why those wires you posted were melted like that - probably should look into all the harnesses.

The wires were not melted. Sorry for the pic it was done with a Ifail. The harness was pinched and smooched when a certain shop locally here ( last ones to ever touch my car besides me ever again ). So the wires are actually gashed. I am going to rip the whole harness out today and do a compression test along with a leak down. Ill take pics if I find anything.

Ok so finally got around to work on z. Finally did a compression test. Bad news. Cylinder #2 has zero compression...... So started the process of pulling the motor last night. I will update again once i get a chance to take a look.

Wow it has been a while since i updated this. Sorry for those who were following. After removing the turbo manifold I could see it was a dropped exhaust valve. After removing the head It was confirmed. No contact was made and pistons looked perfect. Also, head gasket was still great. ( HR btw ). Removed the valve and going to re install a new one. then put it back together and move fwd.

Yeah i was pretty excited to open her up and not see a cracked piston.

Cause?

I would imagine over revving the motor. I turn it to about 7200. Its has Ferrea springs and retainers w/ stock valves. Cam is a Tomei 264 cams, but im not expert so who knows.

Your crank sensor might have burnt up if you didn't have enough/proper engine grounds, might want to check that over, and add 1 or 2 just for safe keeping.

just my .02 cents
