id look into an ls7, a cam longtube headers and an intake and those are making 560 on mustang dyno's around here in the c6 z06 vettes. little headwork could get it up over 600 na no problem. if i was doing a swap thats the direction id go

LS2 = easy and common. Reach out to Vas to get ideas on a list of bolt ons that will get you close to the power you are looking for.

FYI - I parted out my build with blown turbos and a blown motor without being able to sell the block, heads, cams or internals and still have the clutch and some other parts to sell. I was able to cover the cost of the LS2/T56 dropout and half of the SIKKY kit too. I also kept my stand alone and full exhaust.

Here is another thought, scroll down to the dyno graphs at bottom of page:

Yeah cass we get it, your car rapes all of ours

lol.
I totally get why people do ls swaps, it's just not a motor I like. Not a big fan of the sound (they are cool, I love the vette sound too, but not something I would enjoy on a daily/weekly basis like I do a nice 6 cylinder, that's just me though).
I really looked around to try and find a v10 of some kind to swap in... closest thing I could get my hands on was a m5 motor... cost just under 10k, then you gotta figure out transmission and make a custom harness/standalone to get the damn thing to even turn on... nightmare

I'm pretty **** about how cars sound. I don't mind loud, but I really mind the tone and note of an exhaust... probably because I'm a very auditory person.

Honestly the LS2/T56/SIKKY route does seem to be the way I'm leaning. I have been reading, reading, reading, reading.

I love the VQ sound for sure, but I think I said somewhere and I'll say it again, I didn't have that sound after building and TT'ing.

Just offering OP some input on the swap... its not for everyone.

Hardly. My new setup will be a huge step down in power from my other builds. You build the same thing 5 times and see how you feel.

I loved the TT VQ, loved the warble at idle and the hissing of the APS BOV when cruising backroads. Car was so loud with the 3" exhaust and downpipes that it was had to hear anything ever. Couldn't use my cell while driving cause people would always ask about the noise in the backround. Hated losing entire setups every 3000 miles.

Am I a bit jaded... sure, but not any more than others here who have lost multiple builds (Alberto, rrmedix, Mid350). Go buy all the right parts, pay shops that have done many builds to assemble it and then have it fail a few times and come tell me how you feel I could start naming off members that have had solid builds fail for one reason or another and people would be amazed, its like a who's who of F/I regulars.

I still love my Z and F/I. I just don't have any confidence in VQ's anymore.

Oh I didn't mean it in a cross way... I was infact giving you props.

I totally understand what you are saying. I'm doing a good portion of the work, and intended to do ALOT more but it's just too much to do unless that is your only commitment. If this thing pops real easy, I'll really consider engine swap too... albeit 2j

That's the big sh*tter right now... I feel like I'm almost guaranteed a failure and I'm pouring in all the resources I have really to finish this thing.

And having heard a few boosted vq's im not a fan of the sound. It's not terrible, but compared to N/A vq's it's not my cup of tea. Loved my ghetto *** no muffler setup's sound... was like a n/a version of the meisterschaft gtr... I'm hoping with my turbo setup/headers/manifolds it will sound more like a vq/straight 6... whatever it sounds like is what I got so eff it lol.
