Default Looking @ Different Exhaust for ST

Currently have dual XO2 exhaust and looking for something quieter and handle up to 500whp one day. Thinking Invidia Gemini or NISMO? any other suggestions...

500 rwhp plus, and run XO2.

no point changing it.
Know waht your first mod should be?
Read stickies.
Second mod?
Build 500 whp car for 15-20k and then worry about upgrading the 350 dollar exhaust.
Nice first post.

Nismo is a good choice if you want quieter.
But,sure won't work into your 500whp plan.
Keep what ya got...maybe add some resonators to quiet it down if thats the prob.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was told before hand that i would be shot down by the powers to be that circulate on this forum. So I bought a G35C with Turbonetics kit (I know off to a bad start) with water cooled turbo, HKS ignition and Turbo XS UTeCH running on 93 pump gas. My exhaust consist of 3" downpipe that goes into a dual 2.5 XO2 exhaust via reverse Y. So x pipe will not work for me and very loud in the cabin to say the least. I suppose the Invidia setup would strain the flow however it looks similar in design to the APS single Turbo exhaust (my orignial choice until i found out that APS dropped the Nissan and Suburau Brand. What about adding a 3" to dual 2.5" resonator/muffler insteady of the reverse Y? or should I shop for a different setup.

After exhaust I intend to install an AAM return fuel system, 550 injectors and retune. Down the line build the bottom end with forged internals and cams for the cylinder head.

size wise, you have plenty of volume to accommodate alot of power.

the only option now is to look at bullet mufflers/resonantors to put inline to assist the main muffler on the XO2. magnaflow, dynomax, vibrant, etc all make ones of various lengths.

A- im certainly not one of the "powers that be".
b- doncha think the info u added above would have been more helpful to post in .. the ...first post?
Cmon man. If youre on 'driver you should know.
Re read your 1st post, tell me what you would have thought if the show was on the other foot..
Wheres your reverse Y? I havent looked under my car to see wht they are building yet but i ahve XO2 and a reverse Y from a single turbo, and the x pipe will still replace the XO2 h pipe section.. you dont add it inline, you replace the h pipe section w it.. lots of threads on it tho..

dunno.. food fer thought man.

jtgli did a reverse Y-pipe into a 4" single to the muffler out the back. not sure what brand his setup was, but it was super quiet till he got into boost.

My bad..I thought ST in the subject line would suffice.

SO i read over previous threads about the resonated x pipe and i understand how it works with a dual exhaust manifold setup. It should be placed early upstream. With my setup I have a downpipe that merges into a short reverse y pipe then dual. Maybe add resonator to the 3" downpipe or subsitute the y for a 3" to dual 2.5" muffler

greddy ti-c 3". The rear sections should hopefully mount to your reverse Y if the mounting points are the same. My setup with install (fab of reverse y) ran about 1900 though. Car sounds great, no drone on the highway like the old JIC turbo

Ti-C will be WAYYYY louder than what he has now. completely opposite of what he's asking for.

+1 to adding inline resonators/mufflers to your XO2. Go with a free flowing straight thru design if you intend to make 500whp in the future. An offset muffler design will be quieter, but probably would be too restrictive for 500whp.

sweet.. thanks for the picture tho man.. answers my questions for sure.. that y pipe replaces the first section of the XO2, right where youd put the magnaflow.. oh well. Guess my Mangaflow will be going on craigslist.

I recently made 470whp with the orig. HKS dual exhaust & reverse Y-pipe…

I’m also thinking about adding another muffler or resonators immediately after the y-pipe, oddly my car is a little louder than my Brother’s single turbo Z with JIC single exhaust…
