Good luck with the rebuild and I certainly respect that you had the ***** to do it yourself.

So I've been pretty busy with work and trying finish up the car. I did however get a final answer on what killed my turbos... the bearings don't work so well and tend to fail when they are full of silicone... With that information I ripped everything apart again to make sure that there was no residual left in any of the oil passages and flushed them all out. Now I'm waiting to get a spacer machined to step my drivers side turbo off the manifold so that it fits flush, once thats done I'll be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, that or I'll finally run into that oncoming car haha.

So instead of starting a new post I figured that I would post here. I started the car last night I have a small coolant leak that I need to track down but I have a question about oil pressure and the HR oil pumps. After starting the car my oil pressure gauge was reading ~ 60psi it was coming down as the car warmed up but I know that we sould be at about 14 or so psi, just wondering in this is normal or if I should be looking for some sort of blockage... I did look over everything before dumping the motor back in and all the oil passages were clear. I'm running 10W-30 Mobil 1 synthetic if it helps any.

i've never seen less than 30psi on my 40 or 50 weight oil. maybe if you were running 30 weight oil.

ie: you have no problems with your car

i run 5-40 shell rotella and see mid 20's at idle when it's fully warmed.

I use a defi oil pressure gauge though. No stock gauge on g35

So its been a while since I posted an update to this... something about work getting in the way

the car is done now... well sort of, still some things that can always be done, you know like bigger cams, more boost, most suspension parts, etc.

Long story short, I had the guys over at SOHO finish off the block and tune the car for me. At that point the car 450hp/500tq. When I had the turbos rebuilt my buddy didnt have any spare exhaust housings because the old ones got torn up, so we stuffed the old 2871 wheels into a set of machined GT25 housing. As you can imagine I was running out of *** up top, so i decided to upgrade.

Purchased a set of the new GTX2867's

With a re-tune and some bigger injectors and pump the car now makes 603hp/602tq car is a riot to drive and to be honest, a handful if I get caught in the rain.

Future plans include some more suspension work, new wheels, and more power in the form of some new heads/cams...

Nice! Nik and soho are badass. Didnt know they are selling an exhaust now..thats awesome. Their fabricator made an awesome exhaust from scratch for me a year ago, very high quality. They are definitely doing great work

You don't need new head/cams for more power. Those GTX2867 turbos are good for close to 30 psi. Invest in a Haltech with flex fuel, put in some e85 and crank them up. :-) I am injector limited with ID1300cc and 820 whp DJ (at 22-24 psi on e85).

e85 where i'm at is not an option really... there is only like one station in a 50mi radius or I would also injector limited to ID1000's (my cams are itty bitty too lol 256/264)

pretty impressed with your numbers though, I'd be more than happy with those... needz more power for sleeper status lol
