My routing is so non-standard on this exhaust, it's turbo back and is one piece. Ive Sold all my others. I may have to make a custom 3.5" down-pipe to my exhaust I have now.

A 4" where your turbo dumps would be a pita. If anyone is wondering the bends are the problem really.

3.5" down pipe back purged is the way to go

is it the new kit that it wont fit sasha or all of them? was seriously considering moving to 4 inch downpipe with a vibrant 4 inch ID resonator and dumping out the passenger rocker panel by the gas tank since i dont have the stock tank anymore and all kinds of space right there i could cut through lol. havnt gotten down there to measure anything yet, not sure if i wanna go through the hassle of back purging to build it myself or not but dumping like that would for sure help out with a suspension idea i have for the rear..............and wheel tubs.

With the mid mount kit, you can run whatever exhaust size will fit under the diff. IMO this is they way to go:

That is a dual 3" right off the turbo. It gives you fantastic flow, straight though flow design, and still gives you the option of having a good DD sounding car with resonators and mufflers.

This is the customer that made 610whp at R/T on a 6266 T4 .81 a/r with room to spare (goal was 600whp)

I am confident that I can make a 3.5" downpipe with the twin scroll, all the way to the OEM Y-pipe connection to the axle back. From there, you can go single 4" or dual 3". The dual 3" however has 10% more cross sectional area and should 10% more than a single 4" though....so that is something to keep in mind.

The 10% does not factor into weight. I am down to 13 lbs total exhaust weight Without Ti.

Weight is my largest battle right now for a street car.

This is true, but aluminum sounds like garbage and it isn't up to the beating I will put down.

Ill make any down pipe you make work with my 4" bud! Welders and Vband.

I can't tell from the pic, but is the turbine housing close to the prop shaft? Any long turn data if it is?

The cars I've heard with aluminum actually sounded pretty clean. Made some 4 bangers sound quite nice actually. There are videos of a turbo mr2 with an aluminum exhaust+vibrant race muffler. Sounds similar to what ive heard in person. In person most cars with an aluminum exhaust sound a bit tonally dulled down, imho would probably suit the vq35.

FWIW I've got a 3.5" backpurged dp that goes to a 4" aluminum pipe+vibrant race muffler.

No issues at all...and there is a decent amount of room between the two. The compressor cover is close to the driveshaft, but that it not a big deal since it does not get all that hot.

Hard to say. I think if you have a steel dowpipe and then use a vband to convert to aluminum (as we did, with a flex pipe on either side of that vband) you should be "ok".
Probably would hold up like that if the flexpipes pre turbo can hold up to two step. But i do understand your point. We wanted to do the aluminum for weight, and to test just how strong it will be. The material cost for mine was like 15 bucks i think. If it does break ill just have another made.

I thought about making an aluminium exhaust system for the VQ...but don't know if there is enough interest.

I have a good source for custom aluminium mufflers too, but he is not cheap.

I may have a hotside available very soon, including a 6262 setup for a stock block up to 550 whp application on pump gas.
