Awesome numbers, but are you afraid for your motor?

Sorry I might have just missed it but did Z1 motorsports in GA do the work for you? I didn't know this was a kit they offer?

Do you ever use Orsis for your tuning? and what headers do you suggest to upgrade to for your turbo kits?

Cool. I'd just be paranoid all the time, haha. You have a motor fund saving up at least?

Either you plan to baby this thing or you know something I don't. the motor is one thing, it will hold up depending on how good the tune is, but the clutch isn't going to last long.

What is the purpose of this car? daily driver? fun weekender?

no point in changing the clutch until it dies.

and 400tq on a stock block isn't pushing it too hard. If there are no defects in the metal then they will hold a little over 400tq. If they have defects then it doesn't matter and will probably blow up no matter what level of power.

Post the dyno sheet if you can. Hard to get a good look at it that fast in the vid.

This I don't agree with. pretty much one hard pull could eat up the clutch. why go through all the work of putting in a turbo kit that would likely make the install of a clutch harder. to each his own, but I would have at least put in a clutch. especially considering it is pushing 80k miles

The stock block is fine. 400, might be a tish more than I would run on a stock block, but should be fine unless he is beating on it constantly

eh, If you are slow it will add 45 minutes to the trans pull. I've pulled mine 3 times since having this kit and the kit comes off really fast. I never had any issues with stock clutch on the dyno even up at 500hp. The problem came with launching on a sticky race track.

The rods are strong enough to hold 400tq. If there are no defects present then he can beat on it all day long at 400tq with no issues. Some have even taken them up to almost 500tq and drove them hard. I think silvan lake on here had mid 500hp for over a year without issues. I wouldn't recommend it though. The problem with all the destruction is either detonation or a defect in the metal causing the rods to fail. Quality control is quite low on stock engine parts.

I had the car tuned by Jon @z1motorsports. I've been saving up for internals and other supporting mods. As far as the stock clutch goes. I've had my car since new and I don't really "beat" on my car. No clutch kicks, dumping the clutch, etc. So I know my clutch is still pretty good. And as far as holding the hp/tq, Jon was surprised that I still had a stock clutch and he didnt want to believe me haha. I plan on upgrading the clutch when it starts slipping. still havent decided on which to go with, thats why i didnt upgrade the clutch when I was rebuilding my tranny. and the purpose will be a weekend car. but for now its my daily since I sold my hatch. I hardly ever beat on my car on a daily basis. The most that I do is just give it enough gas so that I hear the turbo pretty good lol. I mean im trying to make it last until I get everything else ready.

Oh also, z1 only did the tune. I did all the work and the install.

Thank you....and yes, these kits work very well, especially at the 600whp + level.

A customer with the original mid mount (6266 T4 .81 a/r turbo) made 604whp at R/T tuning last Friday at just 14.5psi of boost (spring pressure) and pump gas. It seems like every time a shop that has experience with other ST kits on this platform tunes this kit, they are shocked at the power output.

Just wanted to bump this thread and see if there is interest in a group buy for the mid mount kit, or the twin scroll kits.

I would be building 10 kits in the next couple of month, and would have them ready to ship by Ferbruary. I would need at least 6 deposits before moving ahead.

Please PM me if you are interested.

I'm definitely interested in a twin scroll kit for the race car.
Just been putting it off changing class because I wanted to spend $$ on other areas of the car
And the $$ really add up fast
