More turbo kit options (all new kit from BP)
#184
The filter finally arrived, so I installed it and it all worked out from there:
(sorry cell phone pics so quality is not that great)
It took a while to get the turbo in just the right spot in order for the filter to fit properly, and not touch anything in that area.
It looks like K&N makes a couple of filter that would fit just fine here as well, but this will do for now.
Now I just have to wait two more months for spring.

Just wanted to give a big thanks to Sasha for building my kit! I believe the pics on page 9 of this post are of mine? Anyways pics don't do justice for the incredible work this guy does. I picked up my kit in person, so I also got to meet him, very nice guy! Looking forward to installing on my next set of days off!

James, it was nice to meet you as well. The pictures on this page (further down) are from your kit, showing the open dump tubes.
On a side note, I finally got all the orders out the door and got just a bit of spare time to build my own twin scroll kit. This is they prototype with the SP compressor cover. A few more pics:
Couple of welds:

lol. You probably could've saved a few bucks getting rid of all those flex sections. You guys are a bad influence! More seriously though, the rust colored turbine kind of stands out in the rest of the bling. On the open dump, looks like its all set up for v-band already to facilitate the option of a turn down or reconnect as desired... You worried about dumping that exhaust heat right around there?

That turbine is 4 years old now, and has been through a lot...and they form rust fast, even just sitting on the bench. Just the nature of cast iron. There is always ceramic coating to get rid of that issue.
As for the dump...it is all V-bands (as you pointed out). This is the best way to go, making assembly easy and fast. I was so happy when Tial came out with the V-band waste gates... The turn down dump do point down, and are no issue at all. It is up to the installer to have them pointing down though, and away from impotant components.
Now I just need to fabricate a 3.5" downpipe for this kit....and let the HP games begin.

Does this Twin Scroll setup use the same IC piping for the most part?
