Default Oil cooler install

Ok I have searched and searched..can't find an oil cooler install on a greddy TT Z that also has a APS oil pan.... anyone have pics or done this? I am curious about the sandwich plate/oil lines on top of the huge APS pan...all the pics I have seen have the lines pointed straight down. I don't believe this is going to work in my case....installing this in the AM getting ready for the www.bborr.com next week...
Thanks..

you would probably need a filter relocation kit that has the feeds coming straight out vs down.

Why does it have to go straight down? I just clocked my sandwich plate so the lines face the rear and used 45 degree fittings.

I have an APS oil pan and an Oil Cooler. No problems, just slap the sandwich plate on and the fittings (mine are strait AN fittings) point to the front of the car. I'm not rocking a turbo though.

I have an aps pan, greddy adapter, greddy intercooler, plumbed to the aps kit. The pipe is very close to greddys configuration. I used a 30 degree and a 45 degree fitting. Outlets facing pretty much straight forward. With the car on jack stands it is kinda close to the sway bar. When the suspension is compressed it moves away so it should be good. I have coil overs so i do not know if it will work with stock suspension or longer shocks. One of the outlets is straight out of the adapter and the other one is on the 45 degree angle or what ever it is. Hope this helps, wish I had a pic but the piping is out for power-coating.

Well its a no go on my Z for the oil cooler....I would need to use a remote oil filter bracket which I did not have available..too much stuff in the way to use a standard pancake for the oil hoses..not worried I have ran three 118 mile road races in the past..highest water temp ever was in the last 10 miles and it came up to 215...can't wait to get to West Texas and tear up the road!!!

there was a thread on here last fall someone made. I think it was jeffy7.

Racerpartswholesale.com has a great price on some oil coolers. Might want to check them out if you don't want to spend 500+ on an oil cooler setup.

what binder said went with his suggestion and it was only 250 for a 24 row cooler with mocal plate, and all aeroquip fittings and stainless hose. shipping is free to lower 48 too.

239 for a -10 kit with thermostat is a freaking steal! I'll definitely be getting one of those.

I ran a relocator kit to put the filter on the drivers side of the cross member and then ran the lines for the dual coolers and sammich plate off of that. Look at the end of my 5.0 build thread to see the oil cooler install process and such.

My shop mounted mine there. There was a REALLY noticible diff once it disconnected itself (line burst). Seriously, running without a cooler now and the hesitation when I punch it is gone. Guess there was a TON of heat-soak

I'm confused. You had less hesitation after you removed the oil cooler? How about your oil temps?

Yep.....placing the oil cooler inbetween the FMIC and radiator seemed to have a noticble effect.

Not overly worried about oil temps as I am not tracking my car like i thought I would = not at all.
