Talking The sound of a TT 350z!!

So this might be the most trivial thing in the world but it has been enough to prevent me from dropping some twins on my Z. I absolutely hate the sound of a twin turbo 350z. Am I crazy or do some of you feel the same way?

The R35 is twin turbo and the sound is beyond perfection. <--- Again my opinion! I understand that these are two completely different beasts but the motor share similarities. Both are V style 6 cylinders, displacement is close, the VQ and VR engine blocks are very similar...etc. Can anyone shed some light as to why the 350z sounds so different to an R35 when the Z is twin turboed? Also, if its in the exhaust setup then would it be possible to have a twin turbo 350z sound like an R35?

Because the R35 GTR has a Y pipe. Mine sounded very similar to a GTR before the Torque Solutions transmission mount with test pipes and Y pipe only.

I have heard a couple in person but it was in passing on the highway and at some meets. It never croased my mind that the Y pipe made that big a difference in sound. Thinking about it now, i dont see how turbos would dramatically change the exhaust note on the stock exhaust for example. I just dont like that rough, fake v8 sound of TT 350s.

dude, i totally agree with you about N/A versus TT Zs. For this reason i've thought about supercharged... but the Y pipe is a nice theory..

I agree, TT 350z have no direction in their sound. But the power upgrade is definitely worth the sacrafice.

What kind of **** is this that the sound of a 350z is whats preventing you from going TT. Kill urself. $100 says you can't afford to turbo the car.

that line never gets old

I have to agree that the GT-R at WOT is the most beautiful sound...

OP it's all in the exhaust, that gives the hollow note preferably TI get's it every time...
