Default Greddy TT Installed and Running

Greetings to All,

I picked up the car tonight...and it is an awsome system. The perfromance is great and the the engine is very smooth with the TT kit installed. The tourge is more than I expected. I will post pics and dynos once I get them scanned in. The pull on the car below 3K rpm is good, above 3K it is very very good. When those turbos kick it is is like a giant NOS shot. It is a blast to drive and it is very hard not to go fast. You just want to put the hammer down and keep it there.

Shaun

Shaun:

Is it ok if I say "I told you so"? After experiencing the SC 350Z's it spoiled me. I can only imagine how excited and pleased you must be with your TT.

I cannot wait to see it in person. My fear is I am going to like it too much. I can feel the money buring in my pocket already!

The beauty of your system is it is so expandable if you so desire.

Poor TCS.

How is the stock clutch doing? I'm wondering what the twin turbo guys are using to hold down that power.

Hey Shaun,

Did you have them install a BOV? If so, where is it placed?

Default Pics, BOV and Problems

Hey Folks,

Pics and Problems - I did not get a chance to take pics becuase the car acted funny Wednesday night going home (about 10pm). I had to take it back in Thursday to have it looked at. I should know what is going on today. So I did not take the pics yet. Sorry.

BOV - Greddy did not reccomend a a BOV and did not put one on their own car so SP and I decided not to put one on.

Stay tuned...

Shaun

No BOV???!!??

I'd put one on anyway. Arent you getting really bad compressor surge when you shift? It would sound like "chi-chi-chi-chi-chi" in a machine-gun like sound.

SHaun, sorry to hear the bad news man. Hopefully, it's nothing major and you'll have your Z back in no time. Maybe it has something to do with not having a BOV? My Greddy TT kit should almost be done by now and I'm hoping for 0 problems. Keep us updated on the news/problems. Thanks

A blow of valve is VERY important for many reasons. Think about the pressure in your intake, 6 psi. Where is that pressure going to go when you let off the throttle and the butterfly closes? It is going to go the only way it can go, back out the turbo! This puts stress on the turbos main shaft and will wear out your berrings fast. If you are running a turbosystem without a BOV you should expect to have problems. You think 6 psi is not a big deal? It's enough to fubar your motor. Six psi is more than 1/3 more air than atmospheric, and 6 psi @ 3.5 liters is a lot more air. Don't be silly, put the bov on your car.

Mabye your getting fuel cut, but I have not heard anyone mention thier FI Z cutting fuel at any point of boost.
