Looks good, I'll need cats tho for emissions... Talking to Hal and Ed about the X pipe and seeing how that may work out.

New intercooler is in and the tranny and oil coolers are mounted up...

Starting to work on the pass thru of the core support to re-route the air filter on top of the IC in the G... May be more of a pain in the butt tho than 1st thought because in the G the AC lines are routed funky right there at that spot...

Hope to have some updated pics soon.

Getting closer! I decided to delete everything related to the AC. Figured I have a car for daily driving with AC when its hot, not gonna need it. I might be wrong though, lol

I live in AZ... That is not even an option here when it's 105 - 115 for 5 - 6 months out of the year... If they can't re-route those AC lines safely and still keep the AC working then I will keep the stock set up for the filter.

I had a "quality" auto AC shop re-route my lines. Not cheap.

Added CATS back in. The Haltec o2 sensor is in The top of the CAT.

Cross tube with V-band clamps.

Looks good Zume! and the obstruction from the HKS H pipe is now gone and that is totally smooth in there now... Should totally help out the flow!

So after searching and finding many people with 'authentic' HKS exhausts that had issues with their H pipe having an obstruction I had Hal pull mine off just to check and make sure mine was 'good to go'... Well, I am glad I did because this is what he found... Great quality control there HKS... WTF are you people thinking with this crap in a $1,800.00 exhaust?!?! UGH....

I got my exhaust back in Feb 2006 so if anyone reads this post and got theirs around the same time do yourselves a favor and pull off the mid section, shine a flashlight down there and see if you have the H pipe extending out into your flow...

So I am going with the Magnaflow X pipe and gutting out the H pipe all together.

Preach it brother!

The fix is a LOT of work but worth it.

Again, this is part of what drove me to spend the money on tools and shop/garage upgrades to become a DIY'r.

I have yet to meet Hal but we have conversed a lot on the telephone. This is where my car is going when I finish for the tune.

Ok exhaust is done, should have some pics shortly to show... Almost time to put the fluids in and 'burp' the system and she should be started up for the first time next week and then tuning can begin.

Was going to put 'cheesy' stainless steel hose coverings on but decided against it as they looked yeah, pretty cheesy, so just putting those hose clamp coverings on there to match up with the blue timing cover and Cosworth end caps...

Looking real clean there bud!

And those HKS exhausts always sounded like S*** to me! I've always been an H-pipe hater (x>h v8's included!) so you did the right thing by switching to an x pipe

She'll be up and running in no time!

^^ Thanks! ^^ Can't wait to get her back on the road and stretch her legs again!

I actually like the sound of the exhaust personally, at least with cats... I had test pipes on at one point and took em off due to the fumes and how loud she got... I like a bit of a growl but at a certain point it gets annoying and I don't want her too loud... I just really like the tone of the HKS for some reason. I went with Motiv HF cats on this set up...

Here is the X pipe and new flex joints installed... Went ahead and got the new flex joints while they were doing the X pipe as my old ones were all kinds of chewed up from speed bumps and a track day or two. They also tucked her up and gave me another inch or so of clearance.

Just heard her take her first breaths... She sounded pretty damn good too... Nice and deep with no rasp in the exhaust note...

They are going thru the break in process now and have one oil change under her belt and are on the 2nd heat / cooling cycle...

Man I miss that sound...

Break in is done but they ran into some bugs on the dyno during tuning and are trying to diagnose a couple of issues.

As soon as I have more info I will post it up.

Staying positive here with a good attitude...
