Turbo VR6 in 350Z
This is a very unique build and a fresh of breath air (not a typo, a fresh of breath air) from all the common LS and 2jz (two jay Z's) swaps people always do. Can't wait to see when this is all done!
Looking good. Just make sure your welder does two pases (root/fill) with the SCH 10 pipe you are using. It will make it much stronger and it will last a long time.
It really needs to be full penetration on the welds. Otherwise, you have the area that is not fused, expanding at a different rate as the rest... pushing against each other. It eventually will stress the weld enough to crack it. It's not a matter of if, it's just when. Maybe while you have it, maybe a few years down the road.
I got the VR6 DeLorean up and running, here it is as of tonight.

Here is a little clearer video of the engine running; it's still far from complete.

Love the DeLorean project!
My father had a DeLorean when I was a kid. We used to go to the DeLorean club meets. I think it's what started my love for sports cars. I distinctly remember the numerous shortcomings of the car though (my dad had to fix and upgrade so many things) and the popular quest for more power by a lot of owners (one guy even did a Buick Grand National swap). There were some aftermarket twin and single turbo kits available back then, but this VR6 swap is definitely a superior option for the DeLorean. It's perfect for the DeLorean, but I still balk at the idea of the significant drop in displacement versus the VQ motor when swapping the VR6 into a 350Z or G35.
What size turbo is that and what do you anticipate the power numbers to be?
