was aware of that when it happened…will keep an ear out my next start up…could be ps the system was drained when I was tearing everything down and filled a few weeks ago…
I will post a few more videos of my next start up / start ups…thanks for the heads up and possibly solutions…to think everything was going to fire up just fine and run perfectly from day 1 would be foolish
it's a 6speed manual, not an auto -

confused would be a good way to describe the feeling…
Its hard to explain, but I had to reverse wire the passenger side pump bc how it sits, it's opposite of the drivers side but the hoses are not backwards…and I started going in circles on my psyche 'did you switch the wires?' 'did you forget to switch the wires'…and I damn near talked myself into thinking I did…so I switched them back and ran the pump dry…sure as ****, I did indeed switch the wires so the pump was working right…and at this point I checked both pumps and they were functioning as intended…
A local guy, DKmura, suggested a fire extinguisher which I thought was a good idea…infact, 2 of them…a small 30second one for anything small and a big one in case **** hits the fan…
my buddy Tom out in Croatia who saw the rough running video said to remove the serpentine belt and run the car briefly to rule-out either the power steering pump or the alternator…which I thought was a great idea…
but I figured I should get another baseline video of the car as to compare belt on versus belt off.
I removed the fuel pump fuse to build some pressure in the system, replaced and restarted…
took a few extra seconds to start and an on-going issues with my starter (or flywheel) with what I believe is missing a tooth happened(right around minute mark 0:15) but the car started up just fine…I cranked the steering wheel left and right a few cycles to fill/bleed out the steering cylinder…
idle was initial bouncing between 600rpm and 1800rpm as was the oil pressure between 60 and 100psi…but it seems that everything is running smooth and no awkward metal sounds…the car ran for a minute or two and the engine idle simmered down and was consistent at approximately 600rpm which is rare…
Please take a look at this video (maybe watch the other video first to compare to)
a little more burn off from what I believe is the silicone spray used on the exhaust wrap...

good call on the fire extinguishers. that would suck to have a fire and have to watch it burn after all that work. here is a shot of mine. Its a halotron "clean agent" extinguisher. Its a gas that leaves no residue, no mess. Safe for electronics as well. Pretty pricey but worth it. It will knock down a engine fire quickly with no mess to clean from those powders.

ya, my buddy had more damage from using an ABC extinguisher than from the fire itself.

I dont know if I have pictures of it but I found a guy who retired an FC RX7 SCCA car and he hooked me up with his in-car suppression system...
So the car sat for the late 2013 / early 2014 while a garage was being constructed. I'll skip ahead to the relevant stuff...
But spring 2014 got back on it...not sure where I went wrong whether something back when I first put the turbos on or sometime between then and spring 2014 but pretty sure I lost my headgaskets...
out comes the block ...

Went with the HR gaskets
heads at the shop to get machined
new gaskets sprayed with copper sealant
fab'd up some AN fittings on the coolant hard pipe...one for a pathfinder mod and one to more easily bleed/vacuum out air bubbles...
eliminated the second coolant hard pipe, added the AN20 fitting and remade the coolant pipe
Eliminated the coolant bypass line and heater core line and fab'd up a simple bracket to cover it up.
had to remove the transmission as the waste gates wouldnt have fit around the bellhousing of the tranny...
while the engine was out had the flywheel resurfaced and during the install I stripped the helix coils out of the flywheel...this is a JWT clutch/flywheel combo and we did the reinstall per their instructions...I'm not upset with JWT but the machinist that cleaned everything up said put 20 ft*lbs and use blue loctite...

With everything back on and bolted together I had to get the fans going...wasnt sure what manner I was going to proceed but I decided to go pretty stout (which was a mistake in hindsight).
I sourced these server cooling fans - which are your normal computer cooling fans but on steriods - they move some air! Created a template and found a sheet of aluminum from a metal supply outlet in denver. punched and drilled my cores and
Fitting wasnt too bad but sorta a pain in the ***...
All got scrapped it was 26lbs on the front end of the car (where I'm doing my best to reduce weight on my front end. Found this 16" spal puller and a little sheet aluminum...
