why did your engine blow just gave out after so long or was it a bad tune?? im a little worried because we have basically the same numbers but im only at 7.5psi so hopefully that means its safer than 9psi

No clue. It was tuned by ZCarGarage. A lot of timing was pulled up top and my torque curve was very jagged instead of smooth, but I still don't think it was the tune. The motor was boosted for 2.5 years with a few track days and it was well maintained. A couple weeks before the motor blew I bounced the limiter while racing a GTR because I missed the shifter, but I don't think it was that either. I was probably just unlucky, spun a bearing, and snapped a rod. Crap happens, boost adds stress, and you have to pay to play. All motors fail eventually...mine happened with 67k miles on the odometer, 30k miles boosted.

The Z took its first breath in 5 months. The built motor starts its break-in period today. I should be able to pick it up from ZCG tomorrow.

Nice build Just wondering why you decided to go with OE injectors instead of the Bosch right away? I'm in a similar situation with my G35 being built. I've been trying to decide on the best way to break the engine in and maybe the OE injectors would be a good route for me as well. The only worry I have is that I will be running a CJM Stage 1 fuel return system with an Aeromotive 340 fuel pump. Is there a reason you are not running a return fuel system, as I thought this was a standard upgrade when going FI?

Oh ok....I'll talk to my tuner and see if running OEM injectors with the vortech would be a good option with my built engine as well.
I read that you will be using a Fluidamper pulley. That is the same crank pulley I will be using with my built engine too. I've been reading a bit that the belt size may need to be changed due to the Fluidamper pulley being larger than the OEM crank pulley. Have you run into this issue yet? What size belt and pulley are you going to be using?

^ If its not too late, see if you can get the grooves of the fluidampr sandblasted / scuffed up a bit before install. There's more belt wrap so less belt slip at high rpm, but I always felt that there was a little slip on shifts when the engine speed changed quickly. Could totally be in my head, but its an easy bit of insurance.
