The new motor has about 220 miles so far and is running strong. Once I hit 1,000 miles we will finish the install and tune for serious power. It's weird getting into the Z after driving a Yaris for 5 months. It's like switching from a semi-truck to a go-kart.

Well you should have done that before you sold it to me

Can't wait to see the outcome! What are you shooting for power/torque?

Got 1,000 miles on the motor. The break-in is done. Just waiting on ZCG to let me drop off the car for the final build.

I have decided to pick up a Kinetix Velocity intake manifold, NWP 75mm throttle body, and a custom 3" one-piece charge pipe.

EDIT: dropping the car off on Oct 2nd. Can't wait.

Good stuff man. Glad to hear everything went well.

Too bad you wont' be able to do an isolated test on the TB. I'm looking at it as well but I'm unsure about it. I'll see what Rob says about it after he has a go at it with your car. Hehe.

Car is getting worked on. ZCG says part of my Koyo radiator is clogged and my fan motors are failing. $700 for OEM fan motors and a replacement Koyo...a big expenditure I didn't expect.

The radiator was installed by the original owner, so it's somewhere between 6-11 years old. Many of the fins were looking a little bent too. Probably could be repaired but time and labor would cost more than just buying a new one.

$700 for the radiator and the fan motors. Brand new OEM motor fans are expensive as hell, but I didn't want to buy used. This car will be hitting the track hard so I don't want to skimp out on anything. Plus I have to do whatever ZCG tells me or else Rob yells at me.

If I had known I would have to fix this I wouldn't have ordered these that just came in today:

From what I can tell, the slim fan shrouds won't fit a 53mm radiator and a Vortech. It won't clear the piping. We have to trim the stock fan shroud quite a bit to clear.

Default Koyo.

[QUOTE=the3

So how did your Koyo get clogged?

I've been running a Koyo for >30k miles , never had any issues in that department.

Another huge setback. ZCG installed my Stillen oil cooler sandwich plate and the threads on the upper oil pan snapped. They said they didn't overtighten it. It was actually their oil pan that we used in the motor build. Now I have to pay them to drop the front suspension and reinstall a new upper oil pan. These setbacks are adding up.

Man that's crazy. I hope you get it all worked out man. Stuff like this reminds me why I did it all myself.

I'm going to talk with Rob tomorrow and work this out. I have faith that ZCG will come through.

Yeah, that isn't your cost. Rob should pick up the tab for that one.

hopefully they seat the rear main seal correctly the 1st time. be very mindful of oil leaks out the inspection cover after they replace the upper pan.
