Are you going to be fabbing your own adapter parts for the 4L80e swap, or are you going to source them from somewhere else like Vinny Ten?

Vinny has a really nice kit so I will use his. He has done all the hard work already and I already have little time to work on my own car.

Agreed. I bought Vinny's kit too. I've just been cursed since then trying to save up for the 4L80e.

I did read some good things about jake's performance built 4l80e. That being said, I never did much more research after I saw the price tag on a built auto and swap lmao.

does the Z/G have a transmission mounted speedo? I know you can get wheel speeds from the ABS CANbus, but thats not what the dash uses, correct?

Options to get the dash speedo to work with a transmission swap?

With the VTR adapter, which torque convertor do you use? Full GM or some sort of hybrid? Bryan, what stall are you planning on?

4800$ tranny with t-brake + 500$ core + 1800$ VTR part + 1000$ for a torque convertor plus misc cost does make for an expensive upgrade, but damn would it cut some 60' times

This is a awesome build meatbag!!..subscribed!

I have the stage V from Jake with a billet TC, d3 tbrake and optishifter for paddle shifting in the future. Alot of money but well worth it, even a local that uses Rossler said Jakes is top notch work.

Speedo is thru the ABS. I used a TH400 and the speedo worked fine still. As long as you leave the ABS system alone your Z/G won't care what you put in.

I'm pretty sure the only two wires that go into the transmission are for the reverse light. I also thought that the ABS sensors send pulses to a computer which calculates vehicle speed. Could be wrong though!

What size turbo do you think would work for a side mount application? I read your post stating that you tried to fit the 5858's but would have to move the alt and etc..

I am starting a custom side mount project and was going to order some mach up turbo's from precision but wanted to get rough idea of where to start.

You going to be stick with something smaller then a 5858 if you are going to stick with precision. You would have to look to the entry level line of turbos they make for something smaller and I havent delt with any of those before.

Recklezz:
I had a pair of 3431e's before I decided to opt for a single. The entry level turbos have good success with hondas. Make decent power, spool is ok, but are fairly reliable. They do have competition versions of the entry level turbos but they are more expensive. The 3431e was relatively compact, most of the entry level turbos are. Just make sure you don't go with a hotside that is a 5 bolt lmao; they weigh a ton!

i was looking for somthing bigger than a 3431. I have gt28'son my car now that i maxed out for a couple years now. I want to be around 750-800whp. I was wanting to find a pair close to 20g's. I might end up just getting gt3076 with the tiaL vband housing. Fast intentions said they fit on there 370z turbo kit. No reason it shouldn't fit on the 350z. I just cant decide what to do yet. what ever i decide to do i want to match my power goals, so i can be done with switching turbo's for a while. Everything else on my car is ready to go big power. I have always been limited on my turbo's.
