Yes, I have no clearance issues on my front bumper. Trying to post a picture but it keeps giving me a bad link message. But no problems. Are you reffering to it clearing the bumper?

Default Lots of updates

So, I've managed to disappear yet again. Seems that's going to happen with my job. They've had me travel everywhere in the tri states to work. Anyways some updates. Sent the turbos into majestic turbos. Bad news they both had to be rebuilt. The amount of smoke coming out of them was ridiculous!! So I couldn't really even drive the car. But good news fully rebuilt turbos, ready to roll and they are going on now plus I got a warranty with them !! No one mentiones how much of a PITA these cars are with twin turbos. Atleast greddy twins. I had to drop the whole motor out. To replace my clutch, this is my second 6 puck clutch. But I did the turbos at the same time so I guess it was worth it. While the motor is out I wrapped the turbo manifolds. Fixed a leak in my power steering line. Re-built the turbos, and dropped in a whole new southbend 6 puck clutch and flywheel into the car! Praying this one holds up better then the other one did. Definitely doing a proper break in this time!

Motors out taking the turbos off!

First 6 puck glazed over terribly!! Only took 300 miles... Let that be a lesson I guess!! Proper break in!

Brand new South bend also has the billet steel flywheel upgrade and stainless steel clutch line!

Old flywheel only 300 miles on it

New flywheel!

Comparison of old 6 puck next to the brand new one! Hoping it holds up better! Rated for 785 ft/trq

Heat wrap on the manifold!

Motor out!

Default Turbos going back on

Turbos going back on! hopefully the purr as good as they look! Motor going back in tomorrow hopefully!

Unwrapping it is like Christmas all over!!😆😆😆😆

Just picked them up from majestic!

I missed a small spot in wrapping but it's my first time. I moved the turbo blanket and it covers it.

Other side looks much better!!

Honestly I believe those are the lines that came with my kit...I could be wrong I haven't been there for all of the build. Traveling puts a damper on seeing all of it! So they strike you as being to large?

^not trying to **** on your parade...but you (may) end up taking them off due to clearance issues between the turbos and the engine bay...

I would also wrap your o2 sensor wires right at the sensor-base...

did you pull your transmission?

Umm, I'm not sure what you're asking about the transmission...yeah I mean its out. And definitely off the car right now. I had to install the new clutch somehow... Its missing in the pictures.
But yeah it's a good idea about the 02 sensor! I'll definitely put a little wrap around the wires! Good looking out!

Yeah I think -4 is large enough..those line look huge.

Update on the blankets when you put the motor in. I had purchased those blankets but they were HUGE and no way were they going to fit so I returned them.

Nice... Been reading lately how Turbo Blankets cause premature failure due to not letting the heat dissipate properly.

I see no transmission in the tunnel, process of elimination says you removed it!! You'll need to install the engine & transmission as one unit as the WG wont fit around/above the transmission with the trans installed in the car...all things considered you probably were going to do this anyways ...

There are two sides to the coin. Some argue that the heat staying in the turbos improve their performance and help the turbo run "better" ( what ever that means). Other say it's bad and can damage parts because they weren't meant to hold heat on them forever. I guess it comes down to personal choice. I did it solely because I built this to be a track car. It can roam the streets but I'm not going cross country any time soon with it. I was looking to cool the engine bay down it was blistering hot!! Like almost too hot when i would raise my hood after just a 30 minute warm up. So hopefully I can mild it down. But also one thing to note in blankets being "ok" any manufacture car that has turbos has some kind of heat shield, or blanket on it from the factory. Those turbos make it 60k+ miles just like none covered. Food for thought!

Default Blankets vs ceramic coating

You can always ceramic coat the hot sides if you don't have room for a blanket..or do both as I did...

Blankets and ceramic coatings keep heat inside the hot side therefore providing quicker spool up due to the higher heat having more energy=quicker spinning of the impeller.

Ceramic coating or wrapping the manifolds and downpipes will also help and keep underhood temps down.

Default No motor in today

They didn't get the power steering line to us . So I have to wait to put the motor in since thanksgiving is tomorrow. I'll end up back at work so I won't be here for the rest of the work. . Only clearance issues I can see is the steering side turbo blanket rubs... But we let it rest in the engine bay, no problem clearing side walls! Atleast that we can see

The rub will happen, but it should be ok.

I mean honestly, on the side without the steering joint portion it fits perfectly. Wraps all the way around and holds nicely fully closes. On the other side it's a little loose because getting it on there and secured was like impossible! So it's a little loser but not bad!
