Default Greddy 18g oil restriction

I'm running into a 'smoke' issues with my (recently, as in 11miles ago) rebuilt 18g greddy kit. I believe that my AN fittings are not sized properly - these may or may not be the original AN fittings for the turbos (I don't know). My guess is that the blowers are being over-oiled via AN fittings that have too big of a hole.

of course I used the search button but came up with a bunch of post from the urrr-tarded honda DSM world.

Does anyone have information on the opening size of the fittings that connect the oil feed line to the CHRA?

I did ebay-research and it looks like replacement fittings use a 1.5mm hole. Can anyone confirm/crossscheck this to their kit/blowers?

These are my two fittings...

also check for return line restrictions. you can try a turbo oil line filter from forced performance, but generally speaking journal bearing turbos need the higher flow. I would be concerned about under-oiling.

I have 2 AN4 fittings that measure 2.8mm - I'm not sure how the 3.04mm got in there (I blame myself, bc Im the one who assembly them). The 2.8mm opening fitting doesnt smoke nearly as much as the 3.04mm but would like a 2nd opinion.

I considering a inline filter, a guy on my local forum speaks highly of them and warns of unfiltered oil lubricating the turbs...

thanks for the help!

The fact that other z owners don't have turbo failures with the car's high pressure suggests the issue is not on the feed side. MHI turbos are very tolerant of oil pressure.

I really do think it's those AN drain flanges you're using. Like I said on conoc, they neck down to the point where even a -8 fitting effectively has a 5/16" drain hole. That's not enough. I'd see if you can find some dsm drain tubes and fab hoses off them to the pan. Make sure the pan openings are big too, or the oil will begin to back up in the drain tubes. Free flowing is the key to turbo oil drain.

one thing at a time - I found a supplier that has inline filters AN-4 filters and they also sell a variety of sized-fittings...pick up the filters and the fittings (if needed).

the return lines are off the car and I can do a little more analysis here shortly - I'll measure them and see how they neck down. I'm running a JWT oil pan spacer - is there a better pan/spacer out there?
