In fact, on a turbo motor, if the back pressure is too high on the exhaust side, reversion can sometimes become an issue. This may be why Tomei has chosen to open the exhaust valve relatively early. I'm not sure why they are running lower lift on the exhaust than on the intake, though. Nonetheless, I think they will perform well.
That's crazy maybe they were thinking of boost. But I don't see why they would keep lift so reletivaly short.

The oil pump on the other hand doesn't quite work that way. But 8.5k is totally do able on my setup.

Again I'd recommend the BC stage 3's over tomei. Tomei has that cool factor, but they're also rb26 specialists... Not really vq35 specialists. I'd be interested to look at the tomei cam card info. The BC stuff comes in any form you want, like turbo or NA spec.

There are two mods that come to mind if you want to go high rpm and do something different. I'd get a nismo intake cam gear, it has more advance than the stock one, quite a bit more, so you should be able to find a bit more power up top. And second is the nismo oil pump, or a machined rev up pump. If you do some searching theres a good thread on here talking about what causes our oil pumps to fail (non HR oil pumps). Machining isn't very hard to do if you have a good machinist, I wish I had thought of that before hand, but I'll probably take my car out to 8500 on occasion anyway.

OK so you didn't mod your revup oil pump Resmart ?

If I remember correctly is has something to do with the De gears In oil pump and crank vibrations. And our de motor oil pump wasn't design for high output far as rpm.
that all I remember and what you stated about machining material off rev up pump for 8 percent flow. quote me if I'm wrong not saying I'm right but that's all I remembered from when i read it. Lol 😎

Vibrations=bad. The rev up gear is a stronger material.

The machining is to done at the corners of the gear where the angle is sharp. You just want to open it up to reduce point loading at the corner, which is the weakest point of the gear. That's the biggest difference between a rev up pump and a nismo pump. I believe someone was machining them on here and selling them. Or you could run a stock one and be happy with 8k lmao. It won't grenade on your first pass over 8k especially if you don't have a ton of power and don't hit the rev limit but...

Lol but room to grow is always good I mean while I eat 8k you can obviously go to 8.5 worried free on ocassions. .

Yeah I think he was but I missed out.
I rather be safe than sorry and extra precaution is always good in this field of performance /power so safety first. Lol
Thanks Resmart your the illest 😆

By the time my car is all finished up I might head down there. I've got a few tricks up my sleeve I'm waiting to show off for the car. Nothing too crazy but yeah. I'm on the central coast so we're not THAT far apart.

So the BC stage 3's have 4 degrees less lift at .05" and seem to have much more overlap. But they have more peak lift. These cams have been proven time and time again on the fastest 350z's... So I really have full faith in them. I believe both the 1200whp DJ SP z33 that set the 6 speed record first ran them, then Hal/Dynosty's z33 used them to set the quicker 9.3 record with a 800whp DD setup.

I figure when the car is completely driveable I can focus on getting video. When I'm checking for fuel leaks, trying to get the car running right in the garage (baby steps), last thing I care about is video. I did grab a few snapchats and sent to friends (who loved it) but those are long gone.

Good choice man, you'll be quite happy. Might want to have a shop press in the springs. My buddy who's 270 6'9" barely could get them in lol.

you do know you gotta pull the engine apart if you wanna make changes with those JWT exhaust gears.

Hope your tuner has used them before and can do math.
