Default Turbo back header/ manifolds question

I'm doing a custom single turbo. All piping will be custom. My builder stated I need custom headers/ manifolds too. Is this true? I have Momentum headers. Why wouldn't my headers fit while all single turbos use stock headers/ manifolds.

If you do a mid mount you dont need to change headers, not exactly sure about twins or front mount.

It's single, front mount.

if your builder says you need them, then why ask us? are you going to find a different builder based on our answers?

as with any custom on-car built part, you can do it with stock manifolds or custom.

Very true but I find it odd that all the front mount single turbos use stock/ aftermarket manifolds. I.e momentum, VSR, SOHO.....ect.

You mean you find it odd that your builder has chosen not to use standard manifolds. You would need to ask them why. They may have very good reasons. This is not going to be solved in this thread by any of us, since we cannot help you talk to your builder.

My non troll answer;
Depends on a lot of things. Where/how turbo is mounted, how the hot pipes are collecting, what power levels you're shooting for etc. If it's custom no real rules apply. If you're going for like over 500whp might be worth it to change the headers for the what 400bucks? At leasr while you can access the header bolts easily

Thanks dude, that's very true. I just hope I don't get charged $900 for custom headers. If that's the case I'll have some momentum headers up for sale soon. Thanks again.
