At what point is piping/air filter a restriction?
So I am just wondering, at what point does intake piping and air filter size become a power restriction?
I have the procharger with all supporting mods, with 41/25 pulleys. I just upgraded pulleys to 41/22 and am trying to do other minor improvements for possible gains. Currently I had to run a 3.5" to 3" reducer to run piping and an air filter to the front (G35) so I could use an air filter instead of the screen procharger includes. I am debating changing it out to straight 3.5" piping and filter, but am wondering if this would net any gains at these power levels.
I know at higher power levels this can be a problem, but not sure if I would see any gains at the level I'm currently at.
Are there any gains to be had by going from 3" to 3.5" piping and larger filter?

Can you post some pics of what you did to get a intake on the prochager?
I also have a G35 and the stupid A/C Condenser lines are in the way of me getting sort of intake on the front of the procharger.

What power level is "this power level"
The procharger stuff isn't quite as discussed on this forum, so I'd imagine other people like me wouldn't know the HP you'd be running with just cog numbers

380 whp with 41/25 setup. Would be aiming for 425 with new setup but im also at 6k altitude.
Conway theres no way to get a filter on without cutting and bending the ac lines and condenser and cutting the radiator support up. Thats how i got it on.

I don't have any pics of mine but this is exactly how it's done. I just decided to buy hard pipe 90 degree bends instead of use flex tube though. http://g35driver.com/forums/engine-d...35-help-3.html
I havent tested it yet, and since the inital tune I have really only driven the car maybe twice. But I just changed the pulley out since I was not happy with 380. Not sure what it will make at altitude. 41/25 setup at redline spun blower to 75k. 41/22 at redline will be at 85.5k.
