Default Having a couple fuel system issues

I have a custom RFS using 6an lines and a sard fpr and seem to be having a couple problems that I can't figure out. The lines are premade crimped nitrous kit lines so they should not leak.

after pushing the car a bit (slightly higher speeds on long freeway drives 50 mi.+) it smells like ethanol inside the car, but I cannot find any leaks, and under normal daily commute(~25mi at average freeway speed) there are no issues. The only thing I can think of is maybe the o-rings on the fuel rail are leaking? But it is not enough that I can visibly feel or see the the leaking gas. Or maybe the FPR could be leaking somehow?

Another issue came up yesterday which has never happened before. after driving all day, I turned off the car, it rested for maybe 5 min, then when I tried to restart it, fuel pressure would not go above 20psi and would not start. I tried turning the ignition on and off a few times and still nothing. I waited 5 min, then tried again and fuel pressure went right back up to normal and started right up. This has never happened before and the RFS has been in the car for about 2 yrs now.

Anyone ever had similar issues before?

As far as the ethanol smell, my car always emits a strong sent of ethanol, no leaks either.

Yea I just find it weird and annoying to be smelling ethanol inside the car even with the a/c running. do you smell it even when windows are up and A/C is on recycle as well? It only happens when the RPM's maintain above 3k for a long period of time when traveling between cities etc.

Also, I am thinking the fuel pressure problem is either the fuel pump or FPR. most likely FPR but would like a 2nd opinion.

You should not be smelling any fuel inside or outside the car ever.......

Exhaust fumes are a different story.

That's what i figured. I will try changing the o-rings on the fuel rail and hope that fixes it. I know its not really coming from inside the car, as there are no fuel lines running through the interior, but must be seeping through the A/C vent by the battery.

Also drove the car yesterday and no fuel pressure problem. Though I would want to make sure I have reliable fuel pressure. I'm guessing the FPR must have gotten stuck for a minute.

Going out of town tomorrow, so may not reply next week.

I get the ethanol smell too. No leaks in the fuel system. It's the exhaust, I'm essentially running just 3" pipe of the turbo, no catalytic convertors. When I'm stopped it gets a little strong.

When your car wouldn't build fuel pressure, could hear the the fuel pump prime when you turned the key?

If you have open breathers, you will get the smell. Hook up some vacuum to the catch can via the turbo intakes (10an lines to near air filters) and you can get rid of the smell.

Is your EVAP system in-tact?

I have breathers on the valve covers, other than that everything else is intact.
