Default Turbo Replacement

hey guys, long time no visit.

I need to replace one of my APS (non-extreme) turbos. my car's putting out 500+ whp and I'm unable to confirm the size of the turbos. I'm fairly sure that it's a gt28. Is there any etchings on the turbos to confirm this? space is tight and I can't see anything. Also, are gt28rs the same size?

Well if you want to replace them you have to pull them out, so pull them out see what they are. I understand space is very tight but no time like the future to pull them out.

its at a shop right now. I want to make sure I can find a replacement before giving the green light on the swap.

Original APS turbos were true garrett GT2871s ball bearing center section but I believe with an APS modified turbine cover and a GT25R frame compressor housing to make it fit. Then they changed them out for some off brand journal bearing when APS started to go under...

^+1... If you are wanting to replace with GT2871's they will fit just fine, i've got the GTX versions on my car right now and its a HUGE improvement over the GT's

That is probably the turbine A/R, 0.86 or the compressor A/R, 0.60
