Finally, a Siebon vented hood:

Added Aero-catch hood pins. Found what I thought was a good place to mount the pins and then cut into the hood:

And then discovered that the latches won't close. This is due to the angle of the hood, it's just too sloped.

So, made some brackets to move the pins back, tilt them to the right angle, and allow me to adjust everything for a perfect alignment:

The passenger one moves the coolant overflow back and up a little so it doesn't hit the air filter under it so much:

All done, ready for paint:

Plan is to paint the hood and bumper body color, the splitter and all of the mesh in the vents/openings will be black.

Ended up checking the forums today after awhile. Sucks that you couldn't get the turbosmarts working as they looked so nice!
Seems my guess about the medium actuators maxing out at 21psi was correct afterall..

If you are interested, I have a set of high boost actuators that I bought from AAM that I was going to use for my rebuild but I have since decided to switch to a different turbo kits entirely.

Yup, you were right. Unfortunately for my street fuel tune the highs are right at the edge of too much boost.

They may get used again if I ever have to pull the motor (hopefully not for a few years). I have a plan for a setup that would allow me to swap springs and actuators without a motor pull.

Quick update, it's back from paint:

Crappy phone pic. It's also on my ancient snow tires as it was being moved around in the last two months.

It may not look it in this photo, but the color match is excellent.

Next up is switching to normal rubber, and waiting a few weeks and getting the front re-filmed for protection.

Are you in Edmonton? If so, are you joining the 2018 tuning group?

Front bumper reminds me of a 300Z. Super clean though.

I am (I'm the membership director for the EZCC). Car was tuned last year. If you're there this year you'll see me around, I've been helping run the thing for many years and tuning my two cars.

Thanks. I can see that. Funny though, the Z32 guys tell me it reminds them of Porsche styling.

I think we were tuned the year before at the same time.
I had the blue G35 coupe twin turbo. I remember you tell me the story about the new motor leak and how you had to drop your stock one back in just to have something for the time being lol
I’ll see you there for sure. I’m booked for first day first car lol.

Looking good and congrats on sorting out all the issues. I think your car would look super with lower offset, larger wheels for a more aggressive wider stance.

Look forward to seeing you there Sam.

Those are my snow tires. Both the summer and track wheels are flush.

19's with RE-11's for summer:

And 5Zigen 17x10's with 275's all around for the track:

Both pre new body cooling mods. It's still too crappy up here to flip on the summers and take it out.

How do you like the re-11's? I had RE-01r and loved them, my stock g had a very hard time spinning them on the street.

Short of the RA-1 or NT01 R comps I've used for track/autocross, best tire I've had on so far. Not as good as the RE71's I'm running on the other summer car. They are predicable at the limit and pretty quiet. Frankly, I don't give a crap about wet/cold performance as I don't tend to drive it then.

That said, I've spun these in 3rd, but I've also done that once to warm NT01's (I think I was on the 675hp tune). I'm using boost by gear with wheel slip boost and timing pull on the Haltech for traction control, and once setup correctly it's been great. I've probably got some more tweaking to do this year when I hit the local road course.

Looking great. RE-11s have been decent for me, but they are now discontinued. RE71s looks like the future or Michelin PSC2.
