Default aps tt full boost @ 5k??

Hey guys hows it going ? So i have an aps tt kit (with the original bb garrette turbos- gt25's maybe? w/internally gated forge actuators) I'm just wondering when you guys are hitting full boost? I'm only hitting full boost(8lbs) @ 5k rpms which seems high for two small itty bitty turbos. I'm thinking it should be reaching that at around at least 3500 wouldn't you say? Just looking for some input. What could be the issue here? It gradually creeps to 8 lbs , i would think it would be almost instantaneous for small turbos.

Looks like you're hitting boost right after you start accelerating on the dyno.

Doesn't say psi on the graph.

[QUOTE=iideadeyeii;10750368]Looks like you're hitting boost right after you start accelerating on the dyno.

the bottom graph is the boost curve, at full throttle on the street it wont hit full boost till 5k.

Something is wrong, you should hit boost WAY before 5K.

im thinking and trying to avoid that its a wastegate issue considering the fix would involve pulling the motor out since there isnt any space in there to do anything 😒 hence why ive just dealt with the car like this since its been turboed
if it came to that i would want to go external just afraid of modifying my turbo manifolds for the conversion

anyone think it could be something else?

Can you adjust wastegate arms for preload?

Haha I feel dumb. I just noticed rpm and didn't take notice to the graph.

Are you able to get to the hose that controls the wastegates?

The wastegates always start to open before the actual psi, you could install a electronic boost controller which would make them not receive any boost until it hits what you're going for.

Do you have a timing map?

I already have a boost controller I'm going to try disconnecting it and run it at spring pressure to see if its an issue with the controller , however I have disconnected it before when I was chasing a boost spike issue a while back and gate pressure was only 4.5lbs. If I disconnect it now I don't think its going to isolate my problem either way because its going to build 4.5lbs a lot quicker than 8lbs regardless.

You need to make sure nothing free vents if you bypass the controller. That would give a spike

No as much as I would love to its just too freaking tight , cant get in there at all, that's why I dread it being a wastegate problem if it is

if anything I might be able to pull the rod off on the end where it clips to the flap to see if I can close the flap anymore than what it is with my finger(if it does then its obv staying stuck open and that would be my problem) but other than that that's all I can get to

the spikeing was a totally separate issue which had been resolved already a while ago ( had nothing to do with the controller or the gates)

That would be a good test, but would of been easily noticed when it was installed
