Default HKS GTS8555 Supercharger?

Although the answer nowadays is usually "turbo," I noticed HKS has an interesting part number on their website that I couldn't find much information about.

12001-AN008

Found here:

http://www.hksusa.com/12001-an008-gt...-vq35de-ver-2/

Is this real? Anyone have it? The only references I could find about the HKS GTS8550 or GTS8555 were about ambitious plans to release a kit for our car that never happened. Is this unicorn back from the dead or just a dead link? Looks like you can order it today at a few online retailers.

Blast from the past!

I pulled the trigger and picked up the newer GTS8555 based kit. Already have a ton of spare injectors from my 2JZ/1JZ projects. Just need to update my Uprev and drop in a bigger fuel pump and should be ok.

I will be running it on a stock block for now. I know HKS states this setup is for built motors but the dyno numbers they provide really only show barely more than 400ft/lbs of torque which is within stock shortblock territory. 110mm pulley. No idea how much boost that provides in PSI. Anyone run one of these blowers yet?

Keep us posted, I am planning on picking one of those kits up in about a month or so, but it will be going on a built motor.

I'm curious to see how other people fair power wise, even on stock bottom ends.

There's so little information out about them I feel like I'm setting myself up for failure. I chose the 110mm pulley to keep boost down but I'm not even sure what PSI i will be working with! I know HKS makes a 120mm pulley as well but it's not shown as an "option" for the GTS8555 nor does it have a recommended belt size.

A little late but if you look at the graph it shows you the psi.

The red lines clearly represent the 100mm, I think? The blue lines are the old version (1) therefore the green lines are the 110mm? That seems like quite a divergence in hp/tq between 100 & 110mm pulley sizes. Perhaps this is why there's no specific mention of the green. They want you focused on the difference between blue & red! If this is the case, than the V2 is either a very minor bump in power from the V1 (110mm) or a stock drive train time bomb (100mm). Look @ the torque & where it's @ in the rpm range. Looks like a roots type blower. Wish the chart went back to 2k rpm's. No 105mm pulley HKS?
Check out their fuel upgrade kit (14007-AN005). I found it @ one site for just shy of $1,500 which oddly enough was $100 more than the fuel kit for the GTR? WTF? GTR kit comes w/2 195lph pumps & 860cc injectors. Z kit comes w/1 195lph pump & 860cc injectors. 860cc injectors. EIGHT HUNDRED & SIXTY CC INJECTORS & A LITTLE 195 LPH PUMP! WTF?
I gotta say, I'm intrigued. I spoke w/a a well known tuner who had the original V1 & he loved it. Either way, I'd cut the fuel kit cost in 1/2 & go Walbro & DW. I've been researching this s.c. for a week now & am interested as well. Glad I found such a recent post w/others interested. Who's got this motha fukka installed right now?

They used to show the psi in bar before, I guess they don't anymore...I think it was 1.2bar but don't quote me on that lol.

It's putting out right around 500hp & 410 ft lbs on the 100mm @ their respective peaks. The hp line looks like a cent. s.c. but the torque looks like a blower. 1.2 bar is too much for a stock block w/blower-like torque. If I go this route, gonna have to go 110mm till I build. Bummer.
There is a long forum on a BRZ site. Multiple people from HKS chime in from time to time answering questions. Seems when I pulled the #'s for the pulleys, one of'em read "for BRZ". I think it's possible to swap pulleys w/units from other makes. Maybe there's a 105mm after all? Got to buy the pulley & belts SEPARATELY from the s.c.. Here's some links that get you to where you need to go for all those reading this post;

Yea I'm unsure what PSI each pulley is. I went 110mm but I have zero clue what that will make in pressure until I start it up I guess.

I'm going CJM or AAM for fuel. Not sure about the HKS setup but these other ones have been around forever and work well.

Hey, saw u had 0 thanks. WTF? I hooked u up son!
So how long do u gotta wait for it after u buy it?
My big issue is that it's coming from Japan, which is great, made in Japan but I gotta wait 2-3 months for it so says 2 dealers? What, are they stringing this ****in thing to a flock of birds to get it to the usa? Do they have two guys in a back room somewhere puttin'em together in their spare time or something? Just seems like HKS doesn't give a damn if they sell any or not & then if it brakes, hey staten island, forget about it, right? Another 2-3 months @ least. Don't mean to sound discouraging but this thing has some transportation issues. These BRZ guys were waiting many months to get their **** back after it broke.
Here's a link for anyone interested. These guys probably have the most & the most recent experience. The link is to the last page where yet again, some poor dude's not getting any support from hks;

I already have mine Took about 3 months to arrive.

I'm expecting minimal support. HKS no longer has a US division as of a few years ago. I'm pretty comfortable with metalwork after dealing with the SC300 and MR2 projects so this should be manageable. I still don't know for certain that this will fit a Revup but time will tell. It will be a winter project for me. I'm finishing my E85 fuel setup and bodywork on the Lexus first before going back to this car.

Thanks for the 'thanks' ! I used to be much more active on here years ago but jumped on the 2JZ/1JZ bandwagon and now have a hard time with working on a car that struggles to make 450hp without blowing up.

Yeah, they left but have come back to the usa but still, I guess everything's still coming from Japan. Maybe @ some point they will have some stock here. Glad you got it. Jealous. I'm sure you'll be able to make it fit. Only 450hp? Awh, poor you & your not braking the sound barrier but still ****ing fast car. I pity you sir!

There are at minimum 4 kits in stock in the USA right now for the part number 12001-AN008 with some of their various distributors.

HKS did pull out of the US market a few years back, however they always maintained a relationship with distributors to sell their parts in this market. A new "HKS USA" was formed as sort of a joint venture with their master distributor in the USA, but that has since been dissolved and they have a new HKS USA warehouse in the Southwest of the USA, staffed by a limited HKS staff that opened up earlier this year.

No kidding? Seems folks in the swamp are better informed than those in the south. You seem very confident in what you say, so my question to u AKS14 is are u willing to pm me regarding who's gott'em & how to contact HKS?
They're very elusive, to the point where I contacted a known distributor on HKS's list & this distributor had to "attempt" to contact HKS via said distributors "Japanese speaking relations guy". They reached out to HKS over a week ago & no reply. That's cold. Talk about playing hard to get.
I know HKS makes quality but they are not indestructible, nobodies perfect & **** does happen, so even if I obtained one, I suppose fingers crossed, hope & prayer would continually be on my conscious which makes me ask myself, am I just looking for trouble?
Just read this thread again & noticed INTIMAZY has/had the same feeling "There's so little information out about them I feel like I'm setting myself up for failure." Yes, gotta have a little faith I suppose &/or big *****.

The kits I checked on are at wholesale business to business distribution warehouses, so they would not be able to sell to you directly as a retail customer.

That being said, any of the authorized HKS distributors in the US should be able to source that for you within a matter of days, and also, from what I recall HKS USA really is there as a dealer informational tool, to support and inform their authorized dealers of new products, discontinued items, etc.
You could try [email protected] but I am not sure how often they check that.

I have a contact direct with HKS and he is generally pretty good at getting back to me within 1-2 business days even if he is in Japan at the time.

If you wanted to get a kit on order PM me and I can check shipping rates to your location and also get whichever pulley kit you wanted set up with it as I am an authorized HKS Master Seller.

I figured you were an HKS employee. Guess I was close. Spoke w/several (4-6?) HKS listed distributors & most new little to nothing, was it tremotorsports that didn't even know HKS made a kit for the 350z? Yeah, it was tremototrsports. Nice guy but no info or interest in obtaining said info. Everyone I spoke with needed to order it (2-3 months out). Guess they aren't to interested in doing the work to earn my $ or their homework to learn their products, not that I was at all surprised, unfortunately.
Whatever it is I chose, save for the Procharger, must be modified to fit my FX35. If HKS still made their FX kit or even the G, but in the V2 & I was able to get a few questions answered, then I'd lean a lot closer to HKS but that's not reality. If for whatever reason I change my mind, I will definitely contact you 1st & see where you're at but w/the opportunity to get the ati under $5k & vortech for a bit over $4k, HKS & all the issues I've mentioned in previous posts are a tough sell. & here's a thanks coming your way HKS... I mean "A"KS14.
