GTR turbos on the VQ35/37
Hello there everybody! I'm just posting this to see if there is any interest in a cheap DIY Twin turbo kit that uses the OEM GTR turbos.
I'm currently in the process of finishing up installing the turbos and will be getting tuned by next month hopefully. this requires an adapter kit that i made along with a new motor mount bracket (370z only)
so far my budget for everything including clutch and an ECUTek tune is just under 6k!
picture below is of the GTR turbos on a vq35de!

nice to see my built on somebody else "promotion thread" as a picture below. It is a built VQ35DE with factory R35 GTR turbos. The built is a German developement by HK-Power. A lot handcraft skills into it to make the GTR turbos fit mated into the Z. 370z version is although available. Most effort was spent to reach outstanding reliability, because of using factory parts. Rest is all custom built from pipe routing to plumbing, heat shields, adapters + brackets, intercooler, downpipes.. etc. It performs really well and is like factory standard in quality. But impossible to fully apply with under 6k of a budget

he promotes for a cheap turbo solution, using factory GTR turbos and bolt them in a Z. Not sure, if he really has fabricated something by his own or just picking out pictures from a internet research.
The picture below is my built. That's correct. I have done this together with my friend Holger. He is the owner of HK-Power, a German tuner shop. That's why I know really well, how much effort it is, to put GTR hardware properly into the Z and how they perform. There are 8x350z and 4x370z with GTR BiTurbos in Germany out now, all using HK-Power custom hardware. The kits were built from scratch, street + dyno tested and are street legal here in Germany.
We are actually in progress to upgrade my 350z/ VQ35DE with GTR upgrade turbos to push the bar even further. Awesome work and custom fabrication. Has nothing to do with an easy DIY for building your Z on a cheap budget.
