Default Vaccum line connection?

Tig,

I see in a couple of your pics that you have a Red "vaccum line" attached to the plenum? Is this part of the Vortech install? I ask because I am seriously thinking about the Vortech, but I have the KINETIX plenum and that connector is not on the Plenum. Let me know.

That red vacuum line is for the vacuum signal input on the Split Second box. If your intake does not have that vacuum port, you can pick up the signal elsewhere.

infinititech is correct, thats just picking up a vacuum/boost signal for the SS box, vortech sends black hose, i had some red vacuum hose from a hosetechniques kit i previously had. johnathan i posted some pics of the TS bumper under the gallery section under top secret G35, i think its at the bottom on page 2.

infinititech..where is another place i can come from for vacuum line, i need one for my boost gauge.

You can actually tee off of that line. The auto parts store will sell the appropriate tee, and just find a way to make it clean-looking.

we (the installer and I) used all blue zip ties, CEPT for the new ones on the second BOV (wound up with a polished one, with a red hat, so we used red zipties, ......lol)

no, i need another spot to come off of, so far i have the fmu, the bov, and my ss box off of that 1 source, you dont need to leech everything off the same boost line, that can cause fluctuations and inadequate readings, leading to lower fuel pressures, leading to problems, i need a 2nd source for boost/ vacuum, isnt there one off the TB on the back somewhere?

Don't have a car with me now. I can look on Monday for you when I am at the dealership if you like.

tig488 did you feel a big differences with the vortech and also what did you tune the car with? (the r4?)

what is the r4? do you order it from vortech or somewhere else, does it just reprogram the ssbox or does it let you tune your car from a labtop? don't know that much about it but would love to know everything you guys could tell me (my kit comes in wed. three more days) also, having a good friend that works at honda do the install (does alot of turbo si and integras on the side) should he have any problems putting in the kit? he doesn't like to rush things thats why i'm letting him put it in, plus seen his work on turbo cars, every clean. i hope it goes good.
