If you want cheap......try Clutchmasters. A couple guys use them with the stock flywheel and seem to be happy. If you want a little more flash go to a carbon clutch like the Exedy or RPS. I believe they come complete with flywheel as well.

If you have the cash to achieve 500 RWHP, then do yourself a favor and buy a nice clutch. No sense in being cheap.

I'm definitely going to agree with azrael on this one.

If you have the money to get a Z to the 500rwhp range, then you shouldn't be looking for a cheap clutch. Yes you want the most for your money, but a clutch that holds that kind of power, isn't going to be cheap. If you do find a "cheap" one, chances are it won't last long.

Also, there isn't a clutch out there that is rated on horsepower. All clutches are rated on torque only. Granted, if you are doing 500rwhp, then you are probably somwhere close to that in torque, but torque is what tears up a clutch, not horsepower.

JWT has a 1200kg clutch for sale now. Our stock clutch is around 870kg.

i also know that spec and clutchmaster are cheap and they will hold ower like those 2k dollar japanese parts. i dont want to spend all that money cuz there from japan. we have trans ams running around with 700hp on a spec clutch and the clutch has never broke. that is what i refer to as a cheap clutch. so its either spec or clutchmasters for me!

I had a single disk OS Giken clutch ($1599) and it lasted about 6 weeks, and slipped after only a week.

I now have a Clutchmaster Stage 4 clutch ($700) and it has been on the car 3 months, run the 1/4 mile, and no problems at all. I am running 430 rwhp at the track and occassionally on the street.

ATS triple carbon. I've tried every other clutch known to man and have never driven one that was so easy and smooth to drive and yet can handle 1000 HP.

I waiting on the ACT street clutch to come out and run it with the stock flywheel(mainly cause I drag race). ACT makes a good product.

i agree... my twin disk carbon ATS is extremely streetable... engages and slips just like stock. only difference is the pedal pressure (+50% over stock, due to the 1350kg pressure plate).

my twin disk is rated to only 900hp, though!

Sorry for bring these thread back from the dead...but I am in the market for a new clutch.

How is the engagement of the Clutchmaster Stage 3 or Stage 4??
And drawbacks you can see? Seems like a bargain at under $500 complete.

Well, I have personal experience with a stage 3 Clutchmaster in my SS camaro.....awesome clutch, and no clutch chatter. I assume and hope it is just as good for my G35 because when it's time for a new clutch on this car a clutchmaster stage III is what I"m getting. It may be "cheaper" than some of those other clutches out there....but the Clutchmaster is Not cheap quality.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. I cant remember who...wither Skidazzle or Spaz...or maybe it was another one of the TT folks...blew through a $1000plus$ clutch in less than 10K miles. So I am not totally convinced that spending $1.5-2K on a clutch assembly is a good thing. Especially if I want to maintain the street-ability of the stocker.

For the prices of the super high end clutches, I could buy four of the Stage III Clutchmasters. Even with install, I could buy at least 2 of them.

The Clutchmaster literature claims 70% to 110% increased clamping load. If so...that is plenty for my purposes. I need something that can hold about 450lbs/torque.

If you get the triple you can use the 1100kg pressure plate and lighten up that pedal feel.
