Coolest thing about R4 software (Vortech)
Ok, I've been meaning to do this for some time, but I finally got around to it this evening. The SplitSecond R4 software has a record mode that will store the RPM versus Boost along with the fuel and timing map cell values at each point along the way. You can use it to make sure you're getting full boost and also to see what cells (i.e. fuel/timing map entries) get used during a run. Here's an example:
Red = RPMs
Green = Boost
Blue = Fuel map value
Yellow = Timing map value
So you can click on any point on the graph and know what all of those values were at that point. Anyway, I thought it was cool so I thought I'd share

Hey Zimbo...Ive been reading most of the post about the R4 .Most of it is still over my head so far. [Mostly I think because I dont have it in front of me yet] Gave it to the tuner to look at . But I read that you have to re enter your aux. fuel pump [on] points.....rpm and boost...every time you change any thing ? or am I just that dumb ?
zimbo...
I know I asked this before, but cannot find the thread with it now.
What exactly do I need to do to hook up the R4 software and justdownload my settings. Basically, I want a static copy of my current settings as a backup before we start tweaking.
Current goal is to try to bring up the low end torque just a little and leave the top end hp alone.

so how can you read this graph without a grid and axis descriptions and values. Do you have to have the software and trace it with your mouse or something?? Pretty colors though.
