Default Back from the tuner

I just came back from having my G35 AT5 Dynoed and tuned. It was done on a Mustang Dyno ...Last few runs the temp was 84 deg. so I was losing boost .We started out the morning at about 67 deg. We didnt mess with timing at all , just the A/F . I ended up with 338.6whp at 6,400 rpm and 283.3 torq. at 5,900 rpm .He said that on a Dyno Jet dyno it would come out around 379whp and 312 torq . On a early run when it was cool I made 7.1 bls of boost at 6,400 rpm .The the boost on the last run was 6.6 bls . I will post the chart later today if I get a chance...if not I will thursday . I need to talk to some one that knows more about the timing side of it before We mess with it.....Back to the track...I need work on my reaction time and launch

The Mustang dynos I have seen have given higher numbers not lower? I also thought the stock vortech kit put out 8 PSI of boost opposed to 6.6 and 7.1? Granted I have heard the G's put out a little less boost but 6.6 is pretty significant.

338 rwhp seems right online with 6.6 psi. Any issues shifting in full auto mode?

On the contrary the last dyno day out here in SD for us on a Mustang dyno produced lower numbers than a dynojet did accross the board. It was an average of 20 below Dynojet the whole way accross the board. I think it has to do with how the weight is inputted into the Mustang dyno.

I have the rev limiter raise so it shifts in auto .When it does shift [ at WOT] it has...like a dead spot though...The Mustang Dyno...from what the operater told me runs 11 to 12 % lower than a Dyno Jet . But you can set it up any way you want to . The shop across town [ mustang also] has his set up to read like a Dyno Jet .

You might want to check to make sure your serpentine belt is tight enough. If you can turn it all the way upside down with your fingers without great difficulty then it's probably too loose and you'll lose a bit of boost.

The other thing to do is to do the run with the R4 software still connected and watch the fuel map. You can see if it makes it into the 8psi or 8.5 psi cells. Or, you can do a recording as I have described in another thread.

My Edge Racing Converter eliminated that annoying "dead spot."

Something to think about especially if you want better launches and more torque for 392.00 bucks!

Thanks for keeping us updated.

Scott so now we have two at a minimum not sticking. You should have your car right now right?

Let us know and please email me two on my private email I don't always get the notifications from here to my Yahoo account.

Thanks (whosdaddy) and Booger

Yes I checked the belt between every run . I could only turn it half way . He said that we could probably make more HP and boost if we let it cool for a half hour [11 runs back to back] .I just tried to post the dyno sheet but its to dam big . There is that little dip around 5,700 rpm but it did lesson the more he adjusted fuel .We had the same problem like every one else after we up loaded the first time . Thing went to **** after 4,000 rpm .

Well I did print out what you said to do....but..lol...I forgot to bring it with me...so we just called Split Second .As far as boost goes [getting only 7lbs] I believe its because of the headers ,cats, and cat back .There is less restriction .I am making just as much HP as every one else , so I'll be happy with 7lbs .I'll just keep close tabs on the belts .

I was getting about 7 lbs before correcting the belt problems. Now I'm getting 8lbs - 8.5lbs. Stock headers, No cats and Invidia exhaust.

Default Dyno chart

Here is the Dyno results .Remeber its a Mustang Dyno . No Dyno arguements Please . The guy that runs it has been doing it for 25 years , races Vett's , Pantera's , and some Drag cars .Tunes every thing and knows his stuff . I trust him and what he says when it comes to tuning a car and running a Dyno .We havent played with the timing yet . So there is more there to be had
