Greddy TT--2004 ECU Warning--Must Read
Greddy made the fuel map rich to avoid the 'pinging'. A rich mix will burn slower. They should have waited or figured out some kind of ignition solution. I only boosted my Z three or four times before I installed the ignition harness to pull timing, Even with 93 octane gas! 10.*:1 comp+ 25-30 degrees of timing advance PLUS boost is generally a recipie for disaster.
I would borrow a freinds OBD2 logger and using that coupled with an EGT and AFR gauge, you should be able to tell where to pull timing, if you need it at all.
Also, getting a real fuel system put in the car is probably your best overall bet IMHO.....costly yes, but definately the safest route

One more idea, when I was searching on the differences between the 350z and my cars' injector, I was told by the Nissan parts guru that I had the *SAME* part number injector as a 2003 350z, ie 290cc, but that Nissan used a different part number injector for 2004 models.
So, *IF* they went to a somewhat larger injector in 2004, they would have used different fuel maps possibly with a shorter injector pulse width to accomodate the larger injectors. So, if GReddy based their eManage maps on the 2003 350z's longer injector pulse width maps, they'd have less fuel on the 2004s.
Just a guess until somebody flow tests a 2004 injector to see if there is a difference.
