Default Thoughts On Nismo Thermostat With F/I

I just did a search on this subject and there wasn't very much information. I found only 2 people that had them installed. Both had F/I and seemed happy with it.

Sure it is expensive, $125 at Performance Nissan but this beats overheating. In St. Louis, in the summer the heat index gets up to 125 degrees. I can't help but think anything I do will only help.

I just ordered the JWT spacer for the oil and was thinking about the thermostat. Maybe I am being cheap and should just go for a new radiator?

I am running a 9lb pulley with the ATI kit so my engine is plenty warm.

Any thoughts...

Thanks for the replies...

"won't hurt"
"can't really tell a difference"

I guess this is why no one really talks about it.

It looks like I will just save the money and put it towards a radiator.

basicly it willlallow for your thermo stat to fully open at a lower tempreture...the car will eventually reach its operating tempreture but this will slow it down...

a new radiator will help as well... the stillen will hold almost 2x's as much coolant!

if you are having a problem with heat dissapation then this will not do you any good at all. X amount of coolant will heat up a certain amount no matter what temp you start circulating it at.
However if you do not have an overheating problem, this will simply make your engine start cooling at 25 degrees less or so which I do not think will make any difference.

I haven't noticed a problem yet. I am trying to be proactive. I was just thinking with hotter days coming soon (hitting 10 PSI with my procharger) my radiator might need a little help.

I understand the thermostat starts the cooling process at an earlier temp, thus potentially preventing it from potentially over heating as quickly. On the flip side, this could cause increased wear and tear on the water pump.

A safer solution seems like buying a larger radiator. My next question is: Which one will work with a 5AT and an ATI prochager? Since I didn't know the answer to this I started thinking about thermostats.

Drain about half the coolant out of your system and add RO or distilled water in mixxed with a bottle of Water Wetter from Redline. Antifreeze can only hold about 1/2 the heat as water can.

That is good advise. However, I have already done it.
