Default Vortech oil spray nozzle

I was just wondering if any one has tried to get to the spray nozzle thru the wheel well . Im thinking of putting some duct work of some sort on the intake and running it down so I can get to the air filter thru the wheel well . And just thought we may be able to get to the spray nozzle also...any one try ?

I am not following any of what you are asking. What spray oil nozzle are you referring to?

The oil spray nozzle that we need to clean . The nozzle that sprays oil on the gears in the SC . Its on the underside of the blower and cant be reached with out taking the blower off .Vortech recomends it to be cleaned at oil changes....or every other not sure .Im going to try to take off the inner wheel well and see if I can get to it .Along with taking off the air filter and running flexable duct work down and towards the wheel well...so it can be cleaned with out taking off the blower

Really? I didn't see any mention of that in their documentation. Looking at the part that I installed, it just looked like an oil feed line. I wouldn't think that it would need to be cleaned.

Its part of the must do things under the warranty .I got it out and it says...you must remove , inspect , and clean the oil inlet fitting to the SC every 3,000 miles .Get your warranty page out and look ..its there

I took off the inner wheel well and was able to get to the oil spray nozzle very easy [its right there] I also moved the air filter to that spot also .Was even able to move the crank case breather hose and hook it back up to the filter also . I'll see if I can take a pic and post it

boog-

you MUST share with the group....

i am due to change/clean my filter now (loaded wioth belt-dust, from the original break-in and setup, BEFORE i figured it all out!!)

a friend stopped by sat. nite with a vor. Z, and he swappped out to a k&n shortie filter, and ran the CC breather on a seperate filter..... looked MUCH better, and easier to maintain.......

i am thinking about venting the CC seperately too (instead of forcing hot gaseous vapors back thru the compressor, which CANNOT be any benefit), but need to plug the aux. filter hole on the stock filter.. (vort. sent me an extra filter, so i have a new spare to mess with)

i am hoping you ran the filter to the front of the grille, instead of down low.......

call me when time permits (am home all day), i still have to share w/ ya my new 100% silent BOV mod (no joke), gates belt issue, and now this dilema!!

Sorry but the pics didnt come out . I used about a 1ft 1/2 of flexable duct tube [4 in.] like they use for running cold air to brakes on race cars . Hosed clamped it on to the inlet of the blower and ran it down into the wheel well .Went to the hardware store and got a PVC connector used to connect PVC to cast iron pipe . 4in.outside diameter on one end and 31/2 in. diameter threaded on the other. Put the 4 in. side in the duct and the 31/2 in. side in the filter and hose clamped both . Pulled the crank case breather hose down from original spot out to the wheel well and hook it up to the filter . The spray nozzle is very easy .You will see it as soon as you take off the front section of the wheel well . I thought about putting a seperate filter on the cc breather hose [I still may] but it was hooked up to the original intake before F/I
