My supercharger must go...
After 7500 miles of bliss, it's time to say goodbye to my Vortech supercharger. As far as I know, I was the first commercial install of the Vortech kit (despite the fact that my car is the G35 sedan)--and it was certainly the first I know of on this board.
Interestingly, it was by sheer luck that my tuner recognized the SS box and happened to own a copy of the R4 software or my supercharger experience would never have begun. It has been a great learning experience--but since learning how engines work is one of my chief reasons for participating this hobby, I must continue to seek new learning opportunities (and an even faster car).
As a result, the Vortech blower is coming off the car tomorrow and it's a bittersweet feeling. I took the car for one last set of euphoric WOT runs today... 20-90mph admittedly does come and go quickly even in the heat, but I must admit I have grown bored and my car no longer feels speedy. Yes, when I get on the gas friends and family who are not used to the speed of the car do enough rectal clutching to leave sphincter marks in the leather of the passenger seat, but it doesn't feel fast to me anymore.
So, tomorrow starts the experimental TT installation of Boost Logic custom manifolds, Garrett 28R ball-bearing turbos, and Tial wastegates. I'm going to continue to use the fuel management system from the Vortech kit since I think it's one of the best parts of the kit. I've wired up a new fuel injector harness with 440cc injectors in case I need more fuel, but at least for now my goals are a relatively modest 8.5 psi daily driven.
Hopefully, I'll end up with enough remaining parts on the operating table to sell what amounts to the "tuner" version of the Vortech kit for anyone who wants to use that as a starting point for a great supercharger. I just hope whoever gets it enjoys it as much as I have.

Well, to update everyone... I ran into a little snag on the way to TT (the manifolds I purchased did not fit). So, for now, I'm just going to stick with the SC until I decide what full TT kit to buy and at that time I'll sell the entire Vortech kit.
I did end up putting in aftermarket headers as long as the manifolds were down, but that was the only bright spot.

We're staying in close touch with the guys from Boost Logic since we're basically finishing the kit they started.
