Default My Vortech from Grubbs Infiniti

Well guys, I finally took the plunge last week and choose Grubbs Infiniti to do the Vortech Super Charger install on my 2003 Redline Performace 350Z 6speed. The cool thing was that they gave me a G35 as a loner for the week. Today I went to pick up my baby and wow. I now see what the gods have blessed the other FI 350Z owners with.

I went with the polished Vortech with the 9lb boost pulley. Man I am glad I went with the polished, it looks insane.

Here is the info, most of you want to hear. The car achieved 408 rwhp & 331 lbs or torque. The dyno was perfomed on a dynojet and the run conditions were (get this) 101.97 degrees. That's Texas for you, I pick the hottest day of the year to have it tuned. John at Grubbs said to bring it back on a cooler day to have it tuned. Guess that means September. The A/F ratio was just under 12 and it is running at 9.1 lbs of boost. They took the car to a golf course and took plenty of pictures. They will be using it on their website.

The blow off valve on the Vortech is crazy. Man you can hear it coming. Intimidating as hell. At 3k RPM it feels like you are being shot out of a cannon.

It will be getting a boost and A/F gauge installed next week when I redo my stereo. The car will also be in the Dynamic Audio booth at Hot Import Nights in Dallas on August 7. I want to thank all of the FI guys that gave me advice and convinced me to go with this mod.

Pics and dyno sheet will be posted soon.

Chaprro,

Man your stats are incredible. Welcome to the fold. You made a great choice for your installer. I wish I was as close to my favorite shop as you.

One suggestion find yourself a 911 and race him. Make sure you get a look at his face when you beat him.

Priceless!

I am taking an accelerated class on Saterdays from 1-5pm. I graduate this semester . After class tomorrow, I am going to Trophy Nissan. They are having a Nissan Car Show. Free Hooters from 5-7.

John said to try and wait for a day in the 70s and he would do it if the dyno time is paid. If you want we can set up a day with him ( he is usually off on Wednesdays I think) and get a good tuning on a cooler day.

That sounds like a good idea, just be sure to keep an eye on A/F at boost. Especially since you are running 9lb. like myself. Bad A/F = kaboom

Did you get the USB cable and the R4 software provided to you? If you did then you can just plug it up and download the info from the SS Box. Don't make any changes until you fully understand the ramifications.

One day after the install and Trophy Nissan along with D.N.E. (Dallas Nissan Enthusiests) have a car show. I took my Z and met some guys (Jason, Josh) from 350ztech. Lots of Z showed up. I finally got some pictures of my Vortech, here you go:
