I haven't driven the car in a week or two as I've been out of town. I fired it up when I got home and the SC is screaming at me.....very loud squeel. Anyone else experience this ? Belt need tightening? loosening ?
Also, could it be cause by oil issues? Needs more oil ? It's been about 3-4k since it was changed/filled.

my main serpentine belt squeels at startup. I haven't adjusted the tension on it since the sc was installed last october. it usually stops after a few seconds.
as for the oil in the sc, that should last 6k miles and unless the plug falls out, there shouldn't be anywhere for the oil to go so there's no need to refill unless you're changing it.

Now that I've actually hada chance to look at it and check my other SC'd Z, the issue is very apparent.
The smaller cog belt on the rear of the SC is completely smooth instead of being notched like it is supposed to be.
Here's a pic:
Not sure how that **** happened but I hope i can get a belt somewhere besides ATI.Anyone else had that occur ?

I would get the one from ATI since they are made for this blower. Unfortunately they are expensive.
It looks like your belt was loose and was slipping and chewed up the teeth on it. Make sure you get it tensioned when you get your new one.

Look in the manual, there is a part number for all the belts i believe. And if not, get the part number from ATI over the phone and call around car part stores with the part number. Oreilly usually stock stuff like this or can direct you to some one in town.
Are you sure the belt wasnt too tight?

Also, will it hurt anything running without this belt? I can't see how it would as it's not running anything, but the drive cog is still spinning like mad. I could see it being an issue if something hit that, but otherwise there shouldn't be any issues should there ?
