Default Building - No Impact Gun - Torque wrench !

Building - No Impact Gun - Torque wrench !

When you rebuild - each part SHALL be hand tightened with
a torque wrench..

Specifications are in manual... Notice some parts say - if removed
a new fastener should be used in assembly..

I may have an Spare and Separate engine to play with.. soon

Depending on the Scrap value.. I may go N/A 4.3 Liter kit..

Cheers Amy -

as for the stripped bolt, sears sell those socket sets that are meant to take out stripped bolts. I stripped my head bolt on my honda and the tool set worked like a charm.. they have the 12mm. Or

another method that worked for me would be to dremel the bolt head a size smaller and use the 11mm socket.

could also be antifreeze from a bad headgasket. ive seen sludge like that before on a 240 with a blown headgasket.

Like Amy said, Don't use air tools when assembling the motor. Thread EVERYTHING by hand and torque it to the proper spec with a click type torque wrench.

Looks like you have quite the project on your hands. Take your time on everything and it should work out just fine. I love how detailed the FSM is for this car, I've never seen anything like it!

Good news... at least for me.. got the head bolt off that was stuck.. went to hope depot and got a 10mm (thought it was 12) alan key used a hammer to wedge that thing in there good and it came out fine... Im so relieved that i didnt have to arc weld something on there to take it off or who knows what else...

Makes sense to use a hand tool etx... thats what I have been doing to far... but when it comes to what type of torque wrench to use... (just want to know) why do you reccomend click type over standard.. easier to use i guess.. just listen for the clicks..

True the FSM is wonderful... I think i saw a gasket and seal set for an overhauled engine on one of the webisites that GQ posted a day or two ago.. guess i might go for that with all the parts im going to need to replace... o-rings... seals, gaskets, stuff like that.

The other 3 pistons are pretty clean... the middle one has a little amount of rust... but nothing like the one before... all i have to figure out now is how to get TDC and BDC to take the pistons out... what would you reccomend using to turn the crank without scraping it.. im thinking to put the gear/pulley back on realy quick and use that... or putting a piece of wood or something so a wrench doesnt scratch it.... I'll put up a pic of what i have done late.. late tonight.

also for me and GQ... since we are both thinking about this.. what would be more effective cost wise and strength... darton sleeves or pinning?

INSANE~! Talk about jumping in head first.

I hope you got that engine cheap.

GOOD LUCK and can't wait to see how everything turns out.
